How many people play it? I saw in the WoW recruiting topic W. and Kitty were going that there were quite a few. I just got into it, but like that it's free, and has fairly decent graphics for that, and I like it a lot. My only enjoyed MMO since FF X1. Thus I pose a question to those with experience.

How the hell do you set skills? I've tried double click, click and drag, select and hit F3 or whatever, and I can't figure it out, and I skipped to quickly through things. I might be doing something wrong though.

And also, lets hook up in the game once I level up my character and not fail at it horribly, though I've done well thus far. :Psyduck:

I'm a level 81 (should be 82 soon) Venomancer, and I play on the Dreamweaver server, in the second strongest faction.

As far as skills are concerned, you need to find the appropriate skill trainer to level up your skills (Blademaster Skill Trainer, for example) and need to spend Spirit (found on the character screen) and Coin to level them, so be wary.

It's a really good game in my opinion, it's kept me entertained thus far. It's really faction-oriented in my opinion, which is a plus for me because I like the interaction. And I love vent :3

PW is no doubt one of the best out there as far as free mmo's go. I never actually played it THAT much, my highest was just a 54 Wizzie.

And the early game is insanely easy for anyone. It doesn't actually get tough for till the 20's or so, and even then only for Wizzies. XP

And, yeah, you need to buy the skill from the skill master of the matching class.

Venos have it easy everywhere but FB's (instances), and even there they can do well since every group wants one.

And my highest is a 72 Veno.
I forgot which server, to be honest, I havent played in a while.

Yeah, I started with a wizard, and will probably make an untamed for kicks or something. Dreamw. seems to be the best imo.

If you want a listing -

Archers - A pain early on, but they are highly wanted later for just about everything but Twilight Temple runs. If you can deal with the constant need for arrows you're fine.

Clerics - like all clerics, it requires a decent comp that doesn't lag often and a player that is actually there, not constantly afk. Needed for virtually everything, and never obsolete.

Barbarians - A pain to level once questing becomes secondary (around level 40+), especially since they almost always need charms to improve their survivability to high levels for their purpose as tanks. However, they are needed for most everything and get first picks in Twilight Temple runs the majority of the time.

Venomancers - 'Overpowered.' Have the easiest time soloing due to having a pet that can tank while the veno acts as support and magic. Generally wanted for instances since they can pull most effectively, and properly built they can also tank effectively. However, levelling becomes hard ~75+ as they are unnecessary for Rebirth, the popular levelling method at that level range.

Blademasters - Amazing at PVP and one of the few decent AOE grinders when paired with a cleric. They're great at DPS, but since DPS is not 'necessary' as a role it rarely gets them anywhere. However, they can usually weasel themselves into any group effectively.

Wizard - Fun early on, but a pain once they start dropping ~20-30 like a stone whenever they get hit. Those that perservere find a great class with the greatest damage output per spell, desirable for most anything sans a few instances. They are the best for elemental damage matching, but their lack of non-magical non-elemental attacks hampers them when facing certain creatures.

If you want, you can contact me online. I'm ArchSeraph in game. If I don't respond, try PMing me or something, as I often tab out of game to check up on forums or social networking sites.

all right then. WOuld you recommend for my mage the path of a blacksmith or tailor? If mages are fragile I would think armor would be more important to wear.

No, magic power is more important for a wizard, unless you're going for a Vit build, which will cripple your magic attack quite a bit since you'll have to spread into Strength, too, to get any armor worth a shit, which I don't recommend. For a Wizard you're best defense is a good offense.

And you know you can do both. XP

Complete the basic quest for all and then go with whichever pleases you most. I'm a lvl 2 Blacksmith and Craftsman, a level 5 Apothecary, and a Level 6 tailor.

I'm like a level 8 wizard. Though my magic has already hit the high 20's, and my MP is nearly 700 already. My stuff isn't so bad, and I just figured up how to jack the graphics up to make it look nice too.

eat it WoW. 15 bucks a month my ass

That sounds about right. xD
As a Wizzie/Cleric/Veno, I usually hit 1000 MP around level 10.
Most computers can't run PW at max graphics, and honestly even at low specs, I like PW's better. XD

WoW has it's own charms, though.

There is something immensely satisfying in running through West-Arch at full specs and not lagging :NomNomNom:
