It was to avoid their box office sales to be tainted by bad reviews...doesn't that mean the studio even thought the movie was bad? wtf is that, I think I should know what my money is going to or atleast an idea of it. but yeah, critic reviews are bad but ofcourse the fans of transformers 2 and explode-heads liked the movie. <__< God, all they need now is to make a failtastic voltron and He-Man movie and they've fucked up the late 80's-early 90's for me. I hope they don't make a thundercats movie 'cause it will not live up to our expectations. None of them ever do, even if they turn out great....there will always be "they shoulda had..." or "He wasn't black in the cartoons!"
