Fairly straightforward. I think Obama has grown up and realized that people in power that don't agree with him are in politics and mainstream line-light are not in the job just for kicks, and have their wallets ahead of the country. I think it's good to attack the media, since many of them, Fox News or not, are far too opinionated in many ways, which can lead to trouble when they don't listen to the other side.

In my opinion, things at the moment seem to have reversed from the age of McCarthyism back in the 50's and 60's. Now it's some media heads like Beck's communist and unpatriotic comments without justification. Now the government is the one dealing with a sort of Red Scare tactics. It will be interesting if the White House plays it's cards right with this.

What do you all think? Good idea or not?

I'm glad they're finally growing a pair, but I don't want them to morph into the same talking heads they're denouncing. No one's "unpatriotic" or commies because they have a hate-on for the president, whatever the reasoning may be. It's just stupid under another name, again.

When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat.

Oh yes, disagreement with the President and being in opposition to him really warrants them to attack sections of the media. Bush, as much as Liberals hated him, and called him a facist, never did anything like this.

This is just one more step to Obama pushing the "Fairness Doctrine" to try and eliminate things like Talk Radio, and other inconveniences to him.

His administration / Cheney did plenty.

I'm all for attacking the small-but-powerful conservative section of the media. If they can't take it as well as they dish it, they shouldn't bother playing. If they play bullshit, they should be prepared to be called on it, and vice-versa. :NomNomNom:

I sincerely doubt they're in any real danger of being squandered unless they whip out a boob or something.
