If I remember right, Psio created one of these for one of ECWs RPGs years back with visualBasic. It was pretty handy, just it did get time-consuming to input each units data. If you had it pull the character stats from a database stored online somewhere where it automatically updated stats, etc though, you'd be onto something great. I think another person was giving a battle calculator a try for the last RPG ECW had as well, don't know what ever happened to that guy. Good luck anyway, Blank. |

If I had enough free time and could effectively use databases in my own code well enough in labs, then I'd do it, but unfortunately we're only really getting into databases lately. File I/O sounds like a good plan I suppose, but the judges are still going to have to update those inputs themselves anyway which makes reading from them just as much hassle as manually inputting them into the program each time. |

When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat.

I'm thinking we will keep like a standardized unit stat file, and when Judges have to make change to stats because of level ups or whatever, we would just change it/upload the new unit stat file. |

Yeah. If we ever get the capability of storing everything online and making everything automatic, it'll probably take a long time to set up now. That's the kind of thing you want to do before you get an RPG up and running lol. MAYBE IN JUGDRAL 3.0 |

My willingness to work on the project rises and falls depending on my homework load. So... Yeah... I know about databases a bit, but I also know I hate them a lot. It's hard to make a good database. |

Oh. I found that Battle Simulator itself it wasn't dead, I just wasn't looking in the right place, but I have no idea how you'd tweek the codes or whatever it to FEF's system. XP http://pleasingfungusbeetle.com/Maker.html You have to fix a character's code yourself after every level, but it would make judging easier, at least. XP |
