You guys suck as much as you always have and always will, but the rest of the world doesn't hate you as much these days so I'd have to say Obama is doing fine |

Yes, because how much Europe likes us is a key factor in how well Obama is governing his citizens. I mean, Mikhail Gorbachev was a great Premier of the Soviet Union IMO, since the Soviet Union collasped under his rule. Even though the election last year depressed me greatly with the stupidity of the electorate, this gives me a little bit of hope that MAYBE America will not run itself into the ground, and we can get some competent leaders in come 2010 and 2012. |

It doesn't matter how you slice it Senteru-kun, before it was like: America sucks dick and everyone else in the world agrees Now it's like: America sucks dick but not as many people think so It's obviously better like this, don't be a silly willy and bring up russia to confuse our less intelligent members. |

Since we all feel like we should discuss the same things over and over and remain unchanged in our opinions, I'll reiterate how I feel and have felt about this for a long time. Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, left or right.... They aren't able to wave a wand and suddenly everything is better. For the most part, it takes many a year for something to get better, mostly it has to get better on its own. Obama or McCain, we wouldn't be in a largely different position except for the fact there would be less news about what dresses Mrs. Obama wore and more news about McCain's swollen gland. Well, McCain would probably have more power to limit Net Neutrality if he were president and promote control over the internet by the telecommunication companies. But that's a different story. |

I guess republicans don't get wind in the sails very often if they always fuss this much about it. Not that that's a bad thing. Communists before republicans, as the saying from the Bible goes. |

In New Jersey, heeeeeeeeeeeellllll no. The word "Democrat stronghold" doesn't come close to being adequate when you describe New Jersey's politics. That's why this is amusing.

^This It's not completely unusual. A Republican nearly won the spot of govenor a few years back in my state and we're pretty blue. |

That's actually an interestingly close analogy (when the stereotypes come into play; Texas actually has quite a few Democrats in power, mostly at the legislative level). It's more like the Democrat version of Alabama (no Democrats ever). A lot was unusual about New Jersey's election in particular. One: The White House threw its clout behind the incumbent. Obama made, what, five trips to stump for Corzine in NJ? Two: It's been twelve years since a Republican won a statewide election in NJ. Three: It's New Jersey. Edited by Soja, Nov 3 2009, 10:38 PM.
