PENELOPE WIDMORE Day 28 Entry 1 "Good afternoon, Miss Widmore. And to what surprise does Widmore Industries owe this visit?" greeted the receptionist as Penny entered the lobby of her father's office carrying a plastic bag. "Special delivery!" merrily quipped Penny as she passed on by. Up the hall she went, humming as she approached the double oak doors of her father's office. She gave a quick knock on the door and hollered "Dad?... I brought lunch..." She stuck her head inside the suite, "Dad?" He was not at his desk. Penny made her way to the desk and set down the bag of hot food. "Where is he?" she wondered aloud. She started to empty out the contents of the bag. A salad. A container of soup. Some healthy wraps. Two soft drinks... "Ah! Damn it!" cursed Penny as she accidentally knocked over the soup. She fished around the desk, opening drawers, looking for something to soak it up with and luckily found some randomly stored napkins. "He's gonna kill me" she moaned as she proceeded to clean the mess as swiftly as she could. Penny finished up and threw away the mess. As she went to close the drawer something inside caught her eye. Paper containing handwritten information about the prospective whereabouts of the island. The very same information that she and her team had discovered. Penny was stunned. It was her father's own handwriting, obviously he had copied it from her official print outs. "He's known this whole time that I had found the island, and he's kept quiet about it, never confronting me." Realization set in, "He doesn't trust me." Knowing her father's obsession, she naturally assumed he had already acted on this information, which he had. She didn't trust him either. Penny scrambled for her phone, when suddenly she heard the toilet flush. The door to the private bathroom opened and there stood her father, unaware of what Penny had just uncovered, "Sweetheart? I didn't even hear you come in." He smiled then glanced at the food, "Is that lunch? Oh how wonderful, I'm starved." Penny had to act quick. There was no time to waste, she had to alert her team. "Um, yeah. I just have to run down to the car, I forgot the straws and napkins..." "Don't be silly Penny. I have extra right here in my---" "Oh, the dressing... For the salad. I forgot that too. Go ahead and eat. Don't wait for me. I'll be back in a flash." She fumbled for the door, seeming real conspicuous to her father. Penny hurried through the reception area to the elevator. She took it all the way down and waited to exit before trying to dial Henrik. The signal was poor in the main lobby, she went out to the street. "Damn it! C'mon!" She shuddered as she was forced to waste more time bouncing around from spot to spot trying to get reception on her cell phone. Finally the call went through, "Henrik! It's me. Listen, my father has the coordinates. For all we know, he may already be investigating the location. You must contact Mathias. Tell him that our objective has changed. Finding out what happened to Kelvin is still a priority, but extracting them is now of the utmost importance!" A prompt response came through, "Yes of course. I will put in a call to Mathias right now." "Henrik, if my father sends his men to that island, everyone will die." Penny closed her phone and turned around. Her father had followed her down. He'd been standing right there the whole time. Edited by Zsinderella, Nov 21 2008, 09:53 PM.

Day 28-1 Cindy Chandler Cindy sighed. In some way, she always loved waking up in the morning. For just a few moments, there were no responsibilities. No needs. She could stay relaxed and warm. She could just listen. The Hydra was very different that what she had expected. It was a mixture of the beautiful and the terrible. There was this wonderful zoo where the people watched and cared for the animals wonderfully. But she caught hints that something wasn’t quite right with the animals. There was a facility near the zoo that when Cindy would ask Amelia what it was for repeatedly, she would get responses like, “Oh, it’s just the work they like to do,” or, “Silly experiments. Nothing more than that.” The idea of experimenting on animals was not pleasant to Cindy. And the people were odd as well. Most were pleasant, but the leaders had this sort of Gestapo mentality to them. “Good morning, Amelia,” Cindy said to the pleasant older lady. More or less Cindy liked her, but she had some idiosyncrasies. “Good morning, dear,” she said distractedly as she finished some pancakes up. “Did you sleep ok?” “Well, sort of. Everything here is just so… different. I’m not sure how to take it all in.” “Yes, well, I understand, dear,” she said, turning from her task to give Cindy her full attention. “I’ve arranged for you to sit with our psychologist to talk it all through.” “Psychologist? What are all of those other people doing with me?” “Oh, them?” she said somewhat disdainfully. “They aren’t trying to help you, they’re just trying to protect us, and I think they’re done with you now. Her office is up on the top floor overlooking the zoo. You’ll like her,” she said warmly. “When should I go?” “Anytime, dear, but the sooner the better, I always say.” Edited by HaggisInDraggis, Nov 21 2008, 06:46 PM.

'Ready?' asked Jin. Rose gave him a sharp nod and stepped through the doorway. Sayid followed after her with a rifle on his back. 'After you my lady,' smiled Jin holding out a hand to Sun. He rolled the door closed behind them and after a dull thud, the four of them felt like they were a million miles away from the Swan. The subway was a dark and unforgiving place.... As they walked along in the dark, Jin couldn't help but remember the last time he had used the subway. He was glad of the darkness - it had hidden Rose's sadness. Soon the blackness had given way to a gloriously white platform station. Sayid looked on curiously, about to investigate the area, when Jin shook his head and informed him that they needed to keep moving - who knew which of these stations still had Others working inside. And so regretfully, Sayid turned his back on the large 'Barracks' sign and they returned to the darkness. The next time they saw light, it was the Flame station. Jin swallowed a lump in his throat giving Rose one last look before he continued. 'It's not to late too turn back Rose.' 'We'll understand,' added Sun. But Rose didn't speak. She simply turned and climbed the ladder leading up to the Flame Station, leading up to the place where she had been held captive by the mind games of a twisted individaul, leading up to what remained of her husband. |

Locke Day 28-1 A New Priority He struggled to catch up to the escaping danger. The only way he could catch up was to walk through the night without camping, which he succeeded in doing. After a while his legs began to return mobility so he discarded the truly helpful crutch. Stopping from time to time to check the trail he squatted next to various trees and bushes to see of they had been tampered with. In the distance he could hear a rather loud conversation between a woman and man. Both voices he didn’t recognise too well. Not wanting to be discovered he hid behind a mango tree and observed. It seemed that his decision to not camp had proved decisive. He watched as the pantry man and what looked like Ana Lucia was talking. He listened carefully. “For helping us Ana you have my word that you will leave this island as soon as we return to our camp” “So you will actually let me leave” “You will leave along with a few others on the submarine that you somehow have been informed about” “Thy have a submarine? Who the hell are these people” Locke thought to himself. “Yes Ana we will not tell your friends that you betrayed them, you will be able to live your life without the guilt that most people would feel” “Well after hearing that I think we should leave now. North East is it?” “Yes Ana North East” Locke had a new priority. He had to find this Submarine and he was going to destroy it… |

The James Ford Chronicles - "Over Board" "I knew this was going to happen" Gault said as he stirred at the corpse that now lay on a table, the ships Doctor Ray was examining the body. "Frank was right she has been dead for a while now" the Doctor said as he checked Regina's neck. "We'll have to throw her over board, we don't want the crew to get spooked" Gault said as he walked out the room, Sawyer was standing by the door listening to there comments. "I bet your pretty shook up aren't you James, don't worry I will make sure that this wont happen again" Keamy came rushing around the corner of the corridor. "There you are, I need to speak to you" He shouted and pointed to Gualt, "So I have heard Regina went suicidal and killed herself, I thought your crew where professionals, you need to get your act together or I will have to do your job myself". "Hey get out his face Chucky" Sawyer interrupted. "Who the hell is this guy?" Keamy asked Gault. "I'm the guy who's going to break your finger if you keep pointing it around like that" Sawyer interrupted him again. Keamy stirred Sawyer in the eyes and then changed the subject, "That's it Captain come with me" Keamy grabbed Gault and dragged him up to the main deck. Sawyer tried to help but Keamy was to fast, Sawyer followed the two men up and out onto the deck it was getting dark outside. Keamy raised a pistol he still had Gault's neck in his grip. "Everyone get out here" Keamy shouted as he fired one round into the air. The crew came out to see Keamy with his gun and Gault. "Listen up, things are gonna run differently from now on, you'll be taking orders from me, I'm in charge now" Keamy shouted "Now if Captain Gault here doesn't give me the co ordinates to find this island, blame him for all your lives being lost", Keamy was now joined by his crew of mercenaries, " I'm going to give you the count of three Gault and then I'm going to blow your head off, TELL ME THE CO ORDINATES". "Never you crazy son of a b!tch, you won't shoot me you don't have the guts" "One" "Damn it Keamy, what are you doing?" Sawyer shouted, Naomi was now stood behind Sawyer as she watched on in terror. "Two" Captain Gault closed his eyes in fear as Keamy put his pistol to Gault's head. Naomi looked away as Sawyer looked on. “THREE”. |

Ana Lucia Day 28 Ana and Ben walkek through the jungle towards the other's camp. It would be Ana's second journey there. When things hadn't gone as planned back at camp, and Ana didn't get a chance to tell people about the sub, she had to change her plans. Right now, she was pretending to be on Ben's side. She would go with him to camp, and try find out as much as she could about The Others. Then, just maybe, she could sneak out again, back to camp and report back to Sayid and co. Ana followed Ben past some trees. Ana started having some thoughts...bad thoughts she had previously. But what if I just take Ben's offer...it would be so easy. No one would ever know, would they? She would be as free as a bird..free Ana shook off the thoughts and concentrated on the mission at hand. It could all still go wrong. |

Rose pushed the door up and climbed into the Flame station. She purposefully kept her back to the one way mirror. Jin climbed up next and followed Rose's example... They had laid Bernard to rest on the medical bed in the next room. Rose had been in no state to carry him back... When Sayid and Sun were helped up into the station they made their way into the main living area, stepping over the broken doorway that lay on the floor in the process. When Jin had seen Bernard and Rose dying, he forced the door through but he was too late. As he ran to them, Bernard's eyes were slowly going out as he spoke his wife's name. Jin had been too late... They paused at the entrance to the medical room waitig for Rose to proceed. She turned the handle with a deep breadth but it finished up as a gasp for air! Bernard was gone. 'Where is he? Jin we left him right here, where is he?' Rose raced around the small room, her eyes darting from the medical cabinet to the one way mirror that now reflected her terrifed face. 'Where is he Jin? You said he'd be all right!' Rose knocked a mass of stationary off a countertop, before shoving her way passed Sun and Sayid and tearing back into the living room. They both looked at Jin in disbelief but all he could relpy was 'We left him right here...' Rose was moving frantically about the house, swearing and shouting - two things none of them had heard her do before. Jin was about to try and reassure her when she barged right by him, knocking him into the wall. 'What have you done with my husband!?' She was screaming at the camera in the corner of the room. Apparently there was no one on the other end to respond. Rose grabbed the chair off the floor and pointed it at the camera. As she swung with all her might, she smashed the camera off the wall and bellowed 'WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY HUSBAND!' |

Miles, Day 28-3 What is it with this place and headaches? Miles was again forced to one knee. Africa again. I never did figure out how I didn't die there. "Toss their carcasses in the river," ordered Eko. "Give the crocodiles their breakfast." If I move, I'm dead. I'm probably dead anyway, but where there is life, there is hope. Miles faded out of consciousness. He awoke when he struck the cool water from a height. He opened his eyes long enough to see the men who dropped him off the rickety dock walk away. Too weak to swim, too scared to cry for help, he simply floated along the river until he washed up on shore a mile or so downstream. He laid there for what seemed to be an eternity, and finally resigned himself to his fate. "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit," he mumbled, barely audible. His mother had raised him in a religious home, and he remembered that was Jesus' last line, so Miles figured it must be the secret password. He then gave up, and submitted to his fate. "That's where I came in." His mysterious stranger, Eko's brother, was back. Miles rose, happy to be alive, but apprehensive about what was happening to him. "I found you there, broken by my brother, and brought you to the hospital in Eko." "What do you mean, Eko's hospital? You said he tried to kill me." "I'm sorry, your people call it... Lagos. I had a connection there with one of the local parishes, they were able to get you in, and we paid your bill. It was the least we could do after what my brother did to you." "So, you're a regular Good Samaritan. Why would you do this, knowing you'd probably be killed yourself?" "Two reasons, Miles. First, the Lord has always protected me, despite who my brother was. And second, although I did not know it at the time, you were brought here for such a time as this. You could not save the boy from Eko, but you can save the boy here. Follow me to the boy, and fulfill your destiny." |

Day 28-2 Sin-dy Cindy was lost in thought as she wandered upstairs in search of the counselor's office. There was only one office, so she was spared having to examine each door or ask directions. No one was present in the little room, so she sat on the couch, which was remarkably comfortable, and thumbed through a Reader’s Digest that was on the table. There was an adjoining door, and before long, the door opened and a woman stepped through it, not realizing that Cindy was present. The woman had dark hair that was cut in a style that belonged in the 1980’s. She was carrying several files, as well as a walkie-talkie and more than a few books. She appeared hurried and startled as she saw Cindy sitting on the couch. “Oh, hi!” she said with a false air of cheeriness. Some of the books shifted and fell as she extended her hand and introduced herself. Cindy didn’t catch her name because of the racket that her belongings were causing, but decided it would be rude to ask her to repeat herself. She figured she could ask Amelia later. Cindy had risen to shake her hand, then sat down, re-examining the room. Cindy had never been to a counselor before, but she was glad to have the opportunity to talk to someone. She wasn’t quite sure if she liked this woman yet or not, but she figured that her options in this place were limited. There was a lot on her mind. “So, I’ve read your file,” the counselor said as she sat and crossed her legs. “Even without the plane crash, you’ve been through a lot,” she said, flipping through the file and not looking her in the eyes. Cindy was startled. How much did they know? She wondered if they had made the connection that she used to live in the States? “How far back does that thing go?” “Well,” she said, looking and speaking directly to Cindy now, “I know that your foster mother committed suicide and confessed in a letter to killing you and your foster brother. I also know that your step-father is serving a life sentence for the murder of you and said step-brother.” Cindy was stunned. “This is… confidential, right?” The woman smiled and looked down for a second. Then she cocked her head to the side, smiled and said sincerely, “Don’t worry. Essentially this is all confidential and bound by the patient-doctor relationship. So long as the things you tell me do not endanger anyone or anything on this island, it will be held in confidence.” Cindy sat back. The couch was ironically one of the most comfortable ones she had ever sat on, but she had nevere been more uncomfortable in her life. Was there anything that this woman didn’t know about her? “So what would you like to talk about?” the counselor asked Cindy pleasantly. Cindy let out a little laugh, “You probably already know.” “Well, that’s why you’re here, isn’t it? So tell me, how have you been handling things emotionally since the crash?” For the next few minutes, Cindy chronicled her history of diabetes, and her healing of the disease. She talked about trying to live on the island amongst the survivors. She talked a little about the trip to the Tempest, feeling guilty at first, but when no condemnation was forthcoming, she shared most of that. She had left out her budding relationship with Goodwin for no reason in particular. Besides, it wasn’t really anything anyway. After a few minutes, though, she thought about Charlie Pace's ghost, which, she realized, concerned her greatly. “Can I tell you something?” the counselor nodded. “I mean, something kind of strange?” Cindy looked away, embarrassed to even mention this, but if anything was gonna prove she was crazy and needed a shrink, it was this. “What is it?” With a deep sigh, and without making eye contact, Cindy said, “I’ve been seeing someone.” “Someone from the crash?” “Yes,” she responded. “Well, sort of.” “What do you mean? Like a boyfriend?” “Oh, no!” Cindy exclaimed, “I mean, Goodwin and I had a little something going on, but that’s not what I’m talk-“ “Excuse me, who?” “Goodwin,” Cindy said, looking at the counselor who had a very dark look in her eyes. “You know, that guy y’all sent to spy on the tail section survivors. Goodwin Stanhope?” The counselor licked her lips and allowed air to hiss out of her mouth. “Of course I know him. He’s my husband.” Edited by DarthHaggis, Nov 24 2008, 06:42 PM.

Day 28-3 Leslie Arzt - How do you brainwash the brainless? “Room 23?” Arzt asked as they reached a room very deep inside of the central building of the barracks. The man who accompanied him did not answer. He simply held him by the arm and led him through the doorway, which was metal, and had a small window at eye level. The room was essentially empty with the exception of an aluminum chair lying in the center. Before he could stop to object, Arzt was bound with leather straps to the chair, and a metal halo was placed like a band around his forehead/skull, with little wires attached to it. “Hey, what is this, man? What are you doing.” “It’s your debriefing,” the man grunted, fastening Arzt’s neck into place so that he could not move. Then the man placed some sort of device that forced Arzt to keep his eyes open on. It was at that moment that Arzt noticed a viewing screen. “So I’m, like, gonna watch a movie? What’s all this stuff for?” The man snorted, “By gods, brainwashing won’t work on this one if there ain’t nothing to work with,” he muttered loudly. “Just shut up and watch,” he said as he put a few drops into each eye, lubricating them. Then the screen came to life, and music poured into the little chamber. --------------- Overall, the session wasn’t that impressive. Henry’s goggles were MUCH better. This was so chaotic. All these images, and flashes. The music was atrocious, not like that… that… Mozart? No.. Chopin’s fifth nocturn or something? Well, whatever that song was. This stuff was really child’s play, Arzt thought. People marching. Boats. Space ships. Magnets. Bears eating popcorn. Dogs playing poker. Ants. Arzt was wishing he could close his eyes and take a nap. He started wrinkling his eyebrows a bit. Almost… almost… yuppers, POP! The little device keeping his eyes open snapped off, and Arzt was free to close his eyes just as he saw something about god loving some guy named Jerk off, or Jay, or somebody who had something to do with the Cubs and god, or something. Maybe it was Bartman? Or Bart Simpson. Well, it didn’t matter. For about 20 minutes, Arzt slept. He was awoken by a pressure change in the room and his ears popping. The door had opened again. Crap, maybe he should put the eye thingees back on. He bemoaned that he was tied down. How was he supposed to keep those things on with his arms tied down, “Look,” he said, “the eye things came off, but I couldn’t get ‘em back on. Can you loosen these ropes so I can put them back?” “Sure, Mr. Arzt,” a young voice told him as the owner of the voice loosened his bonds, “But I’m getting you out of here, and you won’t be needed them.” Arzt looked up at his son. “Thank you, Karl,” he said sincerely. |

Day 28-1 Benjamin Linus “Good morning, Greta.” “It looks like you have taken well to a good night’s sleep,” Greta said in reply. “Have you decided what we’re gonna do with your rescuers.” “Room 23,” Ben responded. “Do the lummox first. Keep Ms. Cortez occupied, but not confined for the moment. She has this crazy look in her eye.” “Why did she help us?” “Who can say?” Ben answered. “I have no idea what the island tells these people.” “Well, it tells me that what you’re planning to do is right, Ben. We have the island’s support.” “I only hope so, Greta. Because things can’t go on like they are currently. Just look at the mess he’s made out of everything…” ”So you want my help?” Ben asked Abaddon. “Or just information. Why were you interested in the Black Rock Ledger?” Abaddon asked him. “Nostalgia,” Ben answered dryly. “I will not deign such an asinine question with a response.” Matthew let out a pointed sigh. “So I assume that the contents within the Ledger will assist you in finding the island?” Ben did not respond directly. He was spared the need by a knock on the door. A man came through and handed Abaddon Ben’s bag. “Well, then, let us see what the Ledger tells us then, Benjamin,” he said as he laid it on the table and began to open the bag. “You may not want to do that,” Ben said cautiously as Abaddon began opening the flap. Matthew paused for a moment, curious, and then dismissed the warning, continuing to open the bag, which exploded, knocking him over, and disabling the man who brought the bag with him as well. With a shrug, Ben said, “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Ben relieved the other man of a rifle, then looked back to the chamber as he went through the door. “Shame, too, that was a good bag. But I’d never keep the prize on me, you fool.” “Well, I need to talk to Mikhail. Is he here?” “Just yesterday, actually. He was pretty shaken up from the Tempest, but I think he’ll be fine.” “Good. We need to get to the Flame so he can get some information for me. There’s a freighter out there, and it’s earlier than I expected, unless there is a second one.” “How do you know?” Greta asked, taking notes. Ben ignored the question. “And there’s a new factor on the island as well. We need a file on a gentleman named Miles. I’ve made contact with one or two of the survivors, and I believe that we can count on fair support from them. There are a few idealists as well who we could suit just fine.” “So we are moving forward then,” a statement more than a question. “Yes, my dear, we are. By this time next week, Richard Alpert will either be dead or in exile.” Edited by Heimdall, Nov 24 2008, 07:27 PM.

Gabriel Day 28 A lucky find... He was getting close he knew it. The map showed that the orchid was just beyond the river to his left. Finding a suitable place to cross Gabriel used a large stick to test the depth of the water. After hitting a hard rock at the bottom of the river, the stick snapped causing Gabriel to fall face first into the rather cold water. This may have seemed unlucky but fortunately for him underwater lay an old pistol waiting to kill once again. Resurfacing with gun in hand he stared at the old pistol in disbelief. The likelihood of him finding this seemed too farfetched to believe that it was just an accident. Was it fate or had someone like Richard planted it where he knew Gabriel would fall? Nonetheless he had what he needed, he was sure that he wouldn’t use the gun to kill, just threaten, however he still felt the gun was essential to completing his mission. This mission could ultimately result in his death. He needed to enter the orchid, which may or may not be occupied. If so he would need the gun to force his way inside. The next few hours would determine whether Gabriel’s fate was being stuck in a time he shouldn’t belong in. his time had come… |

Jack Shepard Day 28: Entry 2 Jack could hear somebody crying nearby him. "Hmmm..." Jack tried to open his eyes, but it was too bright. There was so much white surrounding him... then it hit him that he was in the medical center. He figured the person crying was Juliet. "Juliet are you there? Was the operation a success?" "Yes Jack... it was." Juliet then continued to cry. Jack could not get up for some reason. "I temporarily paralyzed you. The effect should wear off soon. I promised I would never hurt another person again...." Juliet placed both of her hands on her face to cover her shame. "It's okay Juliet I wanted this to happen remember? Please don't cry. There has been too much crying since we have met." Juliet looked at Jack and forced a smile. "Shannon is very lucky to have you Jack Shepard. You really know how to treat a lady." After a few minutes of miscellaneous talk. Jack could finally move again. He felt a little pain near his heart. "Be careful Jack. You can't get your heart beat beyond 165 okay? If you do, the pacemaker will explode along with your heart..." Juliet gave him a watch that kept track of his heart beat. "I am sorry Jack..." It was finally starting to hit Jack. He would forever be dependent on this device to keep him alive. The things he did for love... "It's almost dark now. Would you like to sleep here tonight or go back to the bear cages?" "I was being imprisoned in bear cages? Haha. If it's okay with you I would like to stay here. Can you please put me in the room next to Shannon's?" "Of course Jack. You won't be able to hear each other though... Very strong walls." "I don't care. Just being near her is enough for me." Jack lay there on a medical bed. The wall was to his right and was the only thing blocking him from touching Shannon. Jack touched the wall and wished it would melt. Shannon had no clue that he was right next to her. Good night Shannon... and good night my future daughter or son.... |

Nathan Rom Day 28: Entry 2 Nathan fought the current as he kept on rowing towards the island.... he never looked back at the other island. It had too many bad memories... FLASHBACK "Why the hell did you shoot my brother with tranquilizer shots Richard?!" Ethan was very close to physically attacking Richard as Nathan finally came to his senses. "Your brother is one of them Ethan! He did not kill Ms. Austen when he had the chance!" "But I thought you wanted her alive!" "Yes. but he also did not kill Steve after he beat the hell out of him! That means he has feelings for them and he could betray us. I will not risk the chance of him backstabbing us." "My brother is in our side! I can assure you that!" "Ethan please... you are not thinking well.... your brother will not be killed he will just have to work in the coal mines. If he proves to be trustworthy and spies on all the tail section survivors and tells us if they are up to any mischievious schemes then we may accept him as one of us." Nathan had to finally speak up. He had heard enough. "Where is Kate?! What the hell have you done to her?!" Richard and Ethan both looked at him. Surprised that he had recovered so quickly. "Now do you see Ethan? He finally comes to and the first question out of his mouth is 'where is kate'.... hahaha!" Richard gets close to his face and he can feel him breathing down his neck. "Kate will never love you Nathan. She cared more about Jack's well being than you. Do you want to know what Kate's first question was?" Nathan turned his head away from Richard. He already knew the answer. "She said 'where is jack'." Nathan let down some tears as Richard laughed and Ethan seemed disgusted in his brother. END OF FLASHBACK Nathan rowed the boat and refused to give up. It was night now. He could now see the island very clearly. He was about a mile and a half away now... Nathan continued to row that boat while tears ran down his face. Edited by slick14805, Nov 24 2008, 10:34 PM.
