Gabriel Day 36- Forgotten Rumors They were in the Hatch. Shannon was still so worried about jack’s safety. All around them the hatch was almost completely destroyed. Something major must have happened yesterday; maybe that flash had something to do with it. His curiosity was becoming once again a huge factor of his life. He had heard rumours about certain events when a member of the Dharma Initiative but surely they couldn’t have been true? Cameron was busy going through the week’s reports at his desk. His mind was pooped; he had to take a break. Getting up he made his way to the tempest cafeteria. Using his only remaining dollar he bought himself an Apollo bar from a vending machine. Across the room were two white coated scientists talking, he couldn’t help but eavesdrop on their conversation. Moving to sit on the table closest to them he innocently listened. “I heard that it can move the Island. This guy called Daniel was talking about time travel.” “Well I heard that if the wheel is turned then the Island doesn’t just move, it has time travel capabilities” “That’s utter nonsense. The orchid cannot hold the power to move an entire island through time. Its main purpose is to move the conscience, not solid organisms.” “Well I’m only telling you what I heard. Some strange things have happened since they turned it. Do you remember that flash of light and buzzing sound a few weeks back?” “Yeah what about it?” “Well get this, that was the exact moment that those Orchid nut jobs turned the Donkey wheel.” “Wasn’t that the same time when everything started to dry out? The climate drastically changed” “Yeah and that can’t be a coincidence. Maybe those ‘nut jobs’ aren’t as mad as people say.” Having heard enough of this nonsense Cameron intervened. Standing up he approached the two men. “Have you got the results from this mornings pressure test Jones?” The sound of authority in his voice startled the two men. The taller of the two spoke. “Yes Sir I will have them on your desk soon” “Well don’t you think you should stop spreading rumours and get off your backside and bring me them?” “Yes sir, sorry Sir I will do it right away” “You boy what is your name?” “Me sir?” the other man replied rather frightened. “Yes you! Who else would I be talking to?” “Ivan Sir.” (The guy who Gabriel later killed when destroying the gas if you remember) “Ivan? Well Ivan get back to work!” “Yes Sir, right away sir!” Yes he remembered those rumours… the flash of light, the sudden change of climate. It had happened again… yesterday. He was going to have to go to the Orchid for some answers… |

PENNY Night 36 Under the cover of night, Penny pulled into a garage on the edge of a private marina, parked her SUV and got out. She slung a bag over her shoulder and headed toward an old wooden dock behind the garage. The sound of the creaking wood under her feet, caused a sudden light to be shown on her. “Who’s there?” said a man with the flashlight. “Shut that off Hendrik, it’s just me.” she said as she shielded her eyes, “Are we ready?” “Yes Miss Widmore. Did anyone follow you?” “No, though after the stunt my father pulled yesterday at the airport, you can never be too sure.” Penny threw her bag to Hendrik who was already standing aboard the back of a large boat beside the dock. He reached out his hand to help her aboard. Penny glanced down and caught a glimpse of the name painted on the back. She was impressed, “This is perfect. Even the name suits us. Good work finding this on such short notice.” Hendrik thanked her as he went off to start the boat up, leaving her by herself. She took a moment to inhale the sea air then smiled while leaning over the railing. As ‘The Searcher’ pulled away from the dock, Penny looked up at the full moon, “I haven’t forgotten about you Des. I’ll never forget about you.”  |

Gabriel Day 36- A old friend becomes a new Companion “Hey Nathan can I have a word with you?” “Sure buddy what’s up?” “I’m not coming with you. Ive decided that there are too many questions that I need answered. The only way that can happen is if I head to the Orchid” “You have to be kidding? It’s freezing out there. If you leave we may never see you again” “I am aware of the risk. I have made some calculations and I believe that the subway system will provide enough heat to keep my body functioning on my trek” “Are you sure about this? Don’t you want to get home?” “The thing is I believe that this is my only true home. I spent a considerable amount of time on this island, enough to class it as my home. If I leave then I will theoretically be allowing whatever is happening here to destroy the island forever. My heart cannot allow that to happen.” “So you are trying to stop this blizzard?” “In a way yes, I am not stopping the blizzard directly I am trying to fix the island itself. The Blizzard is simply a consequence of the island moving” “Now you have LOST me…” “You see I believe that the Island has been moved. Your brothers people must have seen it as the only way to stop other people from coming here, people who want to exploit this places amazing properties” “Listen man you are a good friend but I don’t feel good letting you go wondering off on your own in those tunnels. If I could go with you I would, but I cannot leave Kate or Shannon, I just can’t.” “I understand my friend and wouldn’t think of asking such a favour. There will come a time when I will need your assistance. Whatever the circumstance” “I promise that the next time you need me, I will follow you wherever it is you want to go” “Thank you my friend, I cannot believe I once doubted your allegiances.” The two of them embraced as they had so many times before. To Gabriel Nathan was his shining light. Libby however was the one person that he truly loved. He wanted a word with her before he begins his life changing mission. Moving across the room, trying his best to avoid the unfortunate Frogurt and all the debris he approached Libby. “Hey Libby long time no see” Libby had a stern look on her face. She stood up so she was within eye level of him. Without saying a word she slapped him across the face. “I deserve that” “Too right you do! You leave me alone while all this strange things are happening” “You won’t like this but I will be doing exactly that again…” “What? You’re leaving again? Where? Why?” “To the Orchid and I’m going to save you, all of you.” (I don’t want to explain it again but he says the same as he did to Nathan) “Then I’m going with you” “I’m sorry?” “I am not letting you leave me again. I’m going with you. Nothing you say will stop me” “Then we head out in an hour. Make sure you grab a much supplies as you can. I need to acquire a weapon from someone. Who knows what lurks in the darkness of the subway” |
