Paul Kellerman
Day 38: Debut Entry

They had made camp out in the woods. All of his men had sleeping tents in their large duffel bags. They knew they would be here for a few days so it was necessary to bring some extra clothes. Roger and Mahone were trying to keep the fire going. Even though it was 8:15 A.M it was still dark outside. This didn't make any sense. The island was supposed to be located near the South Pacific where it's warm and nice. Now it was snowing and it was dark. This could only mean one thing.... when the sky turned purple that's when it all started. Could it be possible that the island moved?

"Sir. Check this out!" Kellerman's thoughts were interrupted by his youngest man, Reed Johnson. He was the team's sniper. He pulled out his sniper rifle and fired away.
"Hit!!" Tyrese and Arnold high-fived him as he had apparently hit his target. A one shot kill. Kellerman tried to see what it was that he had just shot. It was a parrot! A Macaw parrot to be exact. It was blue and yellow. This bird must have come from The Hydra Station.
"Good job Johnson. You got those eagle eyes."
"Thank you sir! Jack taught me a little secret to improve my aim." Johnson was really starting to get along with Jack. This troubled Kellerman. Jack still hadn't fully proven that he could be trusted.

The blond haired woman Juliet, approached him.
"What are you going to do in the barracks exactly?"
"I thought I told you not to ask me any more questions. I made it very clear yesterday didn't I?" He was getting annoyed by this woman! He could easily snap her neck and kill her. Or perhaps just shoot her in the knees and watch her die slowly. Unfortunately, she was the only one who knew where the barracks were so he had to play nice.
"Fine, but answer me this... why do you have Charlotte and Frank? What can they possibly do for you?"
God he really wanted to kill her right now. She was one of those empowering women! The ones that believe that they are equal to men. If that were true we would already have a female president.
"How about you mind your own business." Kellerman smiled at Juliet and walked away from her. Chris grabbed Juliet's arm and told her not to follow Kellerman.

Charlotte and Frank must be those people from the freighter he had seen. His men inspected it and saw a few dead bodies in there. Most shockingly of all they saw a picture of Charles Widmore. One of Abaddons worst enemies. Kellerman was going to get as much as he could out of these two even if he had to torture them to death.

Gabriel

Day 38- Brief Exposure to The Cold

He arrived at the Orchid in surprisingly quick time; he now needed to find a suitable way in. The Station didn’t seem to have an entrance directly from the subway however there appeared to be a way out via a ladder. The problem was that he didn’t know where the ladder lead. Knowing that this was his only way out, he decided to brave the climb and ascend from the darkness.

Beginning his climb he noticed that the metal bars of the ladder were ice cold. As he climbed the air around him began to cause him to shiver. He was near the top when he noticed a hatch above him. Holding on to the ladder with one hand to avoid an unfortunate fall, he reached out with his other and pulled the handle above him.

Pushing the hatch with all his strength he was struck by a wall of freezing cold wind. He now knew exactly where he had arrived. He stepped out into a snow covered clearing, all around him the air struck him with piercing daggers of cold. Frantically searching for the orchid he knew he had little time outside.

Finally just as his legs began to lose strength he laid eyes on the Orchid. As fast as he could he headed to the only safe place to him. He reached the door and tried to open it, only to find it locked. Hitting as hard as he could he hoped that there may be someone inside to let him in. His hopes were realised when a man opened the door.

“Who the hell are you?”
“My name is Gabriel, I have been sent here by Benjamin Linus…”

Keamy - Back on the Island

The beeping stopped Sawyer or whoever he was listened to him and let him return, see everyone listens to Keamy even ghost, demon or whatever the hell he was listened to him.

So Keamy was back and he still had all the guns. He walked out the tunnel and ventured off into the sickest jungle ever.

They told it would be a quick job and I would get a nice sun tan,
They Lied.

Frank Lapidus - "Lieing Is Bad For You"

"Who are these guys Charlotte?" Frank whispered, he stared at the men they looked scary to Frank he wasn't a tough guy he wasn't very good at fighting at swearing and whatever badass stuff there is.

"I don't know shhh Frank they arn't messing around" Charlotte answered also whispering.

"Arh! I can't beleave my luck"

"Hey quiet you" A man screamed at Frank for saying two words.

"Sorry"

"What did I just say" The man punched Frank, "Dont say a word do you hear me you pathetic piece of sh!t".

"My damn luck" Franks said under his breath.

"Good Eveing Mr Lapidus, how was your flight?" A receptionist great Frank who was suffering from jetleg.

"It was Hell, can I go in?"

"Of course, Mr Widmore has been waiting" The woman opened the door to Widmore's office.

Charles Widmore was sat at his desk reading To Kill A Mockingbird. "Why are you late Mr Lapidus?"

"I'm so sorry Sir my flight was delayed"

"Your a pilot arn't you?"

"That's not how it works Sir"

"Anyway I have been reading all day waiting for you atleast I made the most of the waiting, so Mr Lapidus let me tell you about this new job, it's been a while since we last worked together after the Portland incident but you are the only pilot I could find in such short notice"

"I'm glad to be working again, I'm so sorry about what happened in Portland"

"All that's in the past now lets talk about the future, the job I want you to do is pilot a helicopter and transport some scientists to a island in the Pacific, it will be a easy job you might even get a nice sun tan, the only catch is that you will have to stay on the Kahana for a while"

"The kahana"

"A frieghter I own that is due to set sail soon from Southampton"

"How much does this job pay?"

"As much as what you think is suitable Mr Lapidus"

" 5000 Dollars, I don't want too much after how much trouble I put you and your money through in Portland"

"That is ok I will double it, it's a important job, here is all the information you need, good luck Mr Lapidus I hope we meet again soon"

"GoodBye Mr Widmore, thanks for everything".

"My damn luck" Frank sighed.

"What was that Frank?" Charlotte asked what Frank muttered.

"Shut up will you Charlotte do you want me to get hit again"

Juliet Burke
Day 38 ~ Scene 1

They had just finished eating some food they had found in The Staff. They began to pack up and start heading to the Barracks again. Juliet's heart began to pump ever more rapidly. Kellerman wasn't a good man and she knew that he meant nothing well if he were to arrive at the Barracks. Juliet had a feeling that many innocent people would be killed. It would all be too much for her conscience. She decided to do the only thing she knew she had to do. Run.

She bolted and ran for her life. Shots were fired, but immdetiately stopped.
"You idiots!! We need her alive! Just get her!!" She knew this island pretty well so she could hide in places they would never check.
She dropped her back and quickly opened it. She had to leave fake dummy trails for them to follow. She put a piece of clothing here and another piece there... they would have no choice but to split up and try to find her.

When your'e terrified you tend to exceed beyond what your body could originally do. In this case Juliet was running like there was no tomorrow. She knew if they caught her she was going to pay.

Frank Lapidus - Toilet Trouble

"Oh no, you can't be serous, oh god no"

"What's the matter Frank" The pair of them where still tied up and captured, Charlotte still whispered.

"I really need the toilet"

Charlotte was shocked at Frank's problem. "What?"

"I have been holding this in for hours but I really need to pee...wait no now I have to do both"

Charlotte scooted away from Frank he was freaking her out.

"What do I do Charlotte?"

"Hold it in some more, you acting wierd, wait why are you pulling that face, Oh no are you serous"

"I'm so sorry it's the jungle air I couldn't hold it in any longer, its soooo warm"

There was some of those scary men looking at Frank, they approachedhim. "Hey what's the problem here"

"Having a bit of toilet trouble, I'm so sorry mr soldier man"

"What's that smell, oh no you didn't" The man smelt something, "You smell like sh!t"

"Amongst other things, can you help me out"

"No shut up and pull yourself together you loser"

"Southampton is a strange place" Frank was sitting at dinner with a woman he had to look classy because it was his last night on land, the Kahana was going to depart the next day. He had met the woman on a street corner, he baught her dinner, he kissed her smoke with her and chatted a load of crap with her.

"So should we go back to my place" Frank asked.

"Well that's what your paying for"

"Oh yeah, come on lets go" Frank downed his pint and took the hooker back to his hotel room. After a couple of hours in the bedroom Frank had to get out his money.

"How much was it, I'm really sorry I have no cash left"

"What?" The woman was furous.

"Do you take a check?" Frank asked.

"Are you F*cking joking you loser, I'm calling my pimp"

"My Damn luck" Frank said as he ran for the door.

BANG!

The woman owned a pistol and she wasn't afraid to use it. "Come back here you bast*rd" she shouted at Frank who was now running down the hotel stairs he would have taken the lift but he would have been shot waiting for it.

The man walked away and left Charlotte with Frank.

"Well this is uncomfortable" Frank tried to get in Charlotte's good books.

"I can't even look at you right now Frank, I just lost every bit of respect I had for you" Charlotte looked away from Frank.

"Oh"

Nathan Rom
Day 38: Entry 1

Nathan and the rest proceeded to follow Ethan. They had stayed near the beach as they walked along. Nathan only hoped they could find a raft or something that he could use to paddle his way to the Hydra.
"This is insane Nathan! We have been walking near the beach shore for almost a day! Even if Ethan did go to the Hydra how are we supposed to reach him?"
"I am hoping we find a raft nearby Kate."
"I am going back. Aaron will get sick from this horrid weather Nathan! You can continue to pursue your brother, but I will not be a part of this!" Sayid began to head back to the hatch.
"I'm going with him too." Shannon began to follow.
"Go back where exactly Sayid?! The hatch? The place is destroyed! You just don't get it do you? There is no going back! We are going to die on this island if we don't leave! All of us!!" Sayid and Shannon froze on their tracks. Jason, Donald, and Kate agreed with Nathan.
"Oh my god.... look!" Nathan had seen something white and furry just up ahead. Everyone followed including Sayid and Shannon.

There in front of them lied a very sick polar bear. It was dying.
"Is that polar bear dying?" Donald asked.
"He is shivering.. It's too cold for him!" Jason replied.
"How strange. Polar bears are usually meant to live in these cold climates. However these polar bears we've encountered were experimented on and are the exact opposite." Kate petted it on the back.
"He was trying to go to the ocean and swim away. He just couldn't make it."
"On the contrary Kate. He was fleeing from the ocean. Look how he is facing away from the ocean." Sayid proved a good point.
"The water must have been too cold for him." Shannon replied.
"That's not it. He was running away from something. I didn't want to say anything to frighten you, but I think this island has moved. We may have gotten some new animals along with it." Shannon hugged Kate as soon as Sayid said that.
"What the hell could frighten a polar bear into freezing to death?" Everyone realized just how dumb that sounded. Nathan felt dumb for asking it.
"No, that's not it. He was scared away, but when he got here the temperature was too cold for him and now he is dying because it's too frigid." As usual Sayid had solved something.

Nathan looked around on their surroundings. They were near a cliff. The one Nathan used to snipe those other people to steal their boat!
"We're here! The polar bear was on The Hydra! It must be straight ahead!" It was too dark Nathan couldn't see the other island. Just then a flare was fired high into the air. Everyone looked at it.
"It's The Elizabeth!!" Everyone began to cheer and yell.
"We're over here!!" Jason pulled out a cone they had found on the ship. He began to yell from it.
"Can you hear us?!! We're over here!!" A light was then lit up on their faces. It was definitely The Elizabeth!! They were going home.

Ana Lucia and Nicole
Day 38 - Entry 3

BANG BANG.
Two flares shot into the dark night sky.
Ana smiled as she watched Horace fire those flares.
She hugged Nicole.
Ana heard shouting.
Nathan, Kate and all them. She could see them on a cliff waving and shouting at them.
Happy shouting.
Happy being the key word. Wow, were they really going home? Could Ana give her daughter a real home? A real life?

"Hey!" Horace and the group shouted back.
He whirrled around the wheel and sailed towards land near where their friends were waiting.

Day 38-2

Cindy didn’t know how people did it. She certainly wasn’t a hunter at heart. Every step she took either crunched on snow, or on leaves, sending a cacophony of sound around the immediate area. She stopped to observe the land, pleased that she could be silent, if only by staying still.

How sad, she thought, gazing over the desolation. Australia was mainly desert-like with some greenish plains, but she thought of it as a very brown place. The island, before the move that is, was lustrous and green. But now all of the trees were bare. Smatterings of green remained from either a resistant plant, or just their leaves that were on the ground. Plants that were nowhere near accustomed to this kind of weather were dying rapidly. A place that was once a lush forest green was now a sickly white and grey. She remembered the snow from her childhood, and it seemed a lot more fun back then. It was quite odd seeing bits of palm frond sticking up throw white snow.

The leaves on the ground were this sickly color of green-brown having fallen off the trees without properly dying and drying, and instead they rotted on the snowy ground. There was this odd smell of decay in the air, kind of like when you left meat uncovered in the freezer for too long. The island was dying. She could feel it.

Well, what should she do? She gave up on the idea of finding anything worth shooting, and honestly, she wasn’t really sure she would succeed anyway. It was chilly outside, but not awful. She could probably put up with it a little while longer. She looked around a bit more, and remembered a little ravine nearby with a waterfall. Never had she seen a frozen waterfall before. What the heck? Why not?

Cindy trekked for a short while in the general direction of the ravine. She climbed up a hill, but things didn’t look like she thought they should. She looked over the island from atop the crest, and nothing appeared as it should in her opinion. She was getting a bit turned around. Fear gripped her a little. It was pretty cold now, and she wasn’t precisely sure of where the Orchid was, nor was she sure of where she was going. Picking a direction at random, Cindy walked down the hill, trying to choose her steps with care.

Once or twice, she almost lost her footing and slid down the hill some, but she was barely able to catch herself on some soggy, dead trees. This happened multiple times, and each time she was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to catch herself. Each time, she got closer and closer to falling and sliding down the hill’s decline, which seemed to be getting steeper and steeper. She was right.

A patch of green brown mushy leaves was her downfall. Her foot slipped on the little pile, and she reached out for what she thought was a dead hibiscus tree. It snapped easily, and she hit the ground. She rolled down the hill and tried to catch herself on another tree, but she couldn’t get a good grip on it. Before long her momentum was accelerating, and she was plummeting down the hill at a breakneck speed, completely out of control. The rifle she carried got caught on a tree, and for a second she thought that it would be her salvation, until the strap snapped and the gun fired a random shot into the afternoon. Cindy attempted to right herself now that her momentum slowed some, but as she stood, she slipped again and returned to the crazy descent.

After a few more moments, Cindy found herself in a curved out area that may have been a frozen riverbed. It was very slick, and no trees grew within it. Cindy slid down it, unable to slow her fall. A few short minutes ago, she wondered what a frozen waterfall would look like. She was approaching the top of one at that moment.

Somehow, Cindy had remained silent the entire time. She did not cry out or scream. She did not groan or swear. No sound had escaped her lips, even after she went over the frozen waterfall. It was about forty meters high, and sheer terror assaulted her brain as she went over the edge. She hung in the air for a moment or two before gravity decided to have its way with her. Down, down, down.

Day 38:2 (originally day 26 flash forwards from both Heimdall and Zsinister Dobre)

The cab let him out and he walked slowly but purposefully down Belvedere Road in London. It was a clear day, and the temperature was brisk. He stopped and gazed at the meeting place. Quite beautiful.
Ben Linus turned and walked up to the London Eye. An absolutely marvelous feat of engineering. He bought his ticket and moved to the appropriate boarding area. He was early. Charles, however, was earlier.
Ben entered the capsule and sat on the center wooden bench. From there, he gazed on the back of a man he despised, but was forced to work with. He swallowed some bile as it rose up in his throat, but if you were to look on him, you would only see a blank cold wall that did nothing to reveal the revulsion he felt at this man before him.
He studied Widmore, who alone shared the capsule with him. He did not turn to face Ben. He wore what appeared to be a very expensive suit of a make that Ben could not identify. If he knew his companion like he thought he did, he imagined that the purchase price could pay an average, blue collar worker for several months. His hair was thinning, and there was an old scar that was just visible on his scalp under his white hair.

After several minutes, the Capsule began turning. The man spoke.
"They say that on a clear day you can see all the way to Windsor Castle."
"Forever our eyes are on the leisure of the powerful, and it is beautiful, but I'm more of a Buckingham person myself," Ben responded.
The man turned and slowly his eyes settled onto Ben. Ben was not intimidated by many people, and truth be told, he wasn't intimidated here. He held most all the cards. But if he could be intimidated by anyone, it would have been Widmore. "Yes, you do like the seat of power, don't you, Benjamin? So tell me, what brings you to London?"
"I think you know, Charles."
“We’re not all that different Benjamin.” began Widmore, “Our rivalry has a long history. We’ve both had our share of struggles and victories. We both have many resources at our disposal --”
“.... And we’re both men who like to be in control our own destinies.” interrupted Ben, “It’s time we try working together Charles.”
“Although I don’t trust you, I couldn’t agree more Benjamin.”
They paused for a moment as the Ferris Wheel reached it’s peak. Ben then spoke, “Charles?”
“Yes Ben?”
“Let’s be real for a moment... You do realize that once we find the island, only one of us can be in control.”
“Yes Ben. We’ll deal with that when the time comes. May the best man win.”

Matthew Abbadon
Day 38:2

Johnson flung open the door to Matthew's office, panting and dripping with sweat. Matthew hated when Johnson ran anywhere; his pit stains became dramatically noticable and his tie started to stick to his shirt. It also made his combover start to sag down onto his forehead. It was not the way Matthew wanted to end his day.

"Sir, we've just learned that Linus is meeting with Charles Widmore right now! They're in the giant ferris wheel thing as we speak! Should we move to intercept?"
"Johnson," replied Abbadon, "we're supposed to be flying under the radar here, right?"
"Well, if you mean we're supposed to keep quiet about our presence here, yeah."
"And what do you suppose would happen if we busted in on a man of Mr. Widmore's means in a highly public location?"
"I don't know sir."
"An international incident, that's what! You buffoon! I would fire you in an instant if you weren't so damn well connected in the capital!"
"Sir, I'm sorry, I..."
"Carry out the original intercept plan, and get out of my office!"

Abbadon was unsure how, but Johnson looked even more disheveled on his hasty exit than upon his hasty entry. He made a mental note to make certain to include him on a dangerous mission doomed to fail, and quickly.

Day 38

“So what brings you to San Diego?” Reuben asks me. The guy’s quite a card. He seems absolutely oblivious to the looks of scorn and hatred directed at him. To be honest, a few are shot at me too, probably just by association.

“How do you know I’m not from here?”

“Ah, my little schmekel, I can just tell. People from here are just different. Or maybe it’s the people who aren’t from here? Oy! Who can say?”

We wait a few minutes, and the waiter returns. He gives me my food and eyes Reuben and his yarmulke suspiciously. “Ah, good, a waiter! Finally,” he mutters the latter under his breath. “Get that baleboste back there to get me some humus with pita, ok? And maybe a bisl of garlic to nosh on, I don’t want it all schmaltzy, kapish?”

The waiter backs away, never taking his eyes of my Jewish companion. He did not write down the order. I think there is something funny about his eyes, but I forget that when Reuben begins talking again. It’s odd, because when I first hear the guy, it’s grating on the nerves. It’s like rubbing a nerve with a razor – scraping, yeah scraping. But after I listen to him for a few minutes, eventually it just becomes a low hum of noise, like static on a radio that you learn to ignore. It’s almost relaxing. But otherwise, I’m not really sure why the heck he’s sitting with me, or what the hell his purpose is.

The waiter arrives with Reuben’s meal as I am nearly finished with mine. I manage to slip the waiter a $20 and begin to tell Reuben that I must be going. “Of course you must. I must, too!” he says as he looks up at the board and calculates his bill in his head. “Hmm, that’s $8.39 for the Humus. I’m not paying any extra for the garlic. They didn’t give me a drink…” he pulls out a calculator and says, “that’s an 84 cent tip.” Then he pulls out exactly $9.23 and puts it on the table. As he does so, I note that the food is not prepared very well, and there seem to be some inconsistencies to the humus’ color, and a mildly pungent aroma wafting from it.

I try to slip away and out the door, but Reuben trails me successfully, holding his meal in his hand. We walk outside and I freeze as I look across the street at my hotel. Multiple police vehicles are parked out front, several with their lights flashing. I start to jog across the street to see what is happening when I spot Alex being led down the stairs by one of the officers.

“The poor schlimazel,” Reuben comments. “Are you staying over there?” he asks.

“Me, no. As you said,” I improvise quickly, “I’m new to the area. I haven’t found a place to stay yet.”

“Well, you’re practically mishpocheh. C’mon over to my apartment. It’s schlocky, but it’s home.”

Jack Shepard
Day 38: Entry 1
"You don't know who I am"

Tyrese and Arnold stayed behind to watch Frank and Charlotte while the rest went after Juliet. Kellerman gave Tyrese and Arnold a scolding for firing at Juliet. The two promised to watch Frank and Charlotte as a way to make up for their stupidity.

Jack, Mahone, Roger, Chris, Johnson, and Kellerman followed after her. They came upon multiple trails.
"The b_ _ch is trying to split us up." Kellerman looked to Mahone for some help. Mahone looked at the four trails closely.
"The one to the far right is the least freshest. The blades of grass are starting to straighten again. That one I can safely say is a fake. That leaves us with three. I suggest we split up. After all she is just a woman. She can't do anything to us." Mahone begins to laugh.
"Juliet has been on this island for years. She may have access to a gun nearby. I have fought a few of her people and they can fight as well."
"Jack is right. Treat her as if she were a man. I want her back you understand?! Now here is how we are going to do this. I will follow the trail to the left while Mahone and Chris can follow the middle trail and Jack and Johnson, you guys can follow the one on the right. We'll meet back here in half an hour!" Before the men split up Jack decided to add one more statement.
"In case you guys need help, fire a round into the air. We'll immediately head towards your direction." Kellerman smiled.
"Oh yeah that too. Thanks for reminding me Jack." The men then split up.

Jack and Johnson followed the trail. The blades of grass were still pretty bent and a twig nearby was broken. Jack had a feeling they had picked the right trail. They had reached the end of their trail.
"The trail ends sir."
"Yeah I know Johnson. Keep your eyes open. Look for anything suspicious." Jack then closed his eyes and tried to use his ability.
"Whatever you do don't go that way. There is a small cliff nearby where you can easily be pushed off."
"How do you know that?" Jack realized that the safest place to hide where they were at was north-east of them. There were so many bushes. Jack pointed his gun at the bushes and began to yell out.
"I know you're there Juliet! I'm gonna give you to the count of three to come out! One....two..." Juliet emerged from the bushes. Her hair was covered with a few twigs and leaves.

"Jack... please... just let me go. You think your people want to go to the barracks to say 'hello'? They mean to do harm!"
"Keep your hands up Juliet or I will shoot!" Johnson was aiming right at her head with his sniper scope. You could see a red laser light imprinted on Juliet's forehead.
"Put your weapon down Johnson. She doesn't want to hurt us." Johnson immediately obeyed. Juliet got closer and touched jack's face with her hands.
"Jack I know you. All this time you've been trying to protect your people and save them.... well I am trying to do the same thing. Please... I just saved your life. Now let me go so I can continue saving other people's lives."
"Go. You're right Juliet. I owe you my life. Go and warn your people."
"What?!"
"Shut up Johnson!"
"Thank you Jack! I'm just going to tell them to leave the barracks that's all." Juliet turned around to leave, but then Jack did a quick side chop with both of his hands to her neck. She fell to the ground completely out cold.

"You don't know who I am." Johnson was amazed by this awesome maneuver.
"Holy s_ _t!! You knocked her a_ _ out!! You gotta teach me how to do that sir!"
"In due time. Pick her up and let's taker her back." Johnson picked up Juliet's body and the two began to head back.
"Don't tell anyone about my ability okay Johnson? That's just between you and me."
"s_ _t I don't even think they will believe me sir. So you just knew there was a cliff on the other side and that she was staring at us?"
"I saw you falling off the cliff, but then my vision just stopped. This has never happened before."
"What do you mean sir?"
"It was as if my batteries weren't charged. Ever since it began to snow I felt my ability weaken."
"How did you get this ability?"
"I guess since I crashed. I can foresee possible situations and also predict the best option I should take. But lately it has been running low on me."
"I am sure it's because it's too damn cold that your head can't quite focus sir." Jack smiled and thought that could possibly be the reason.
"You're alright Johnson. So how did you join The Company? You seem pretty young."
"I'd rather not talk about that." Johnson went from an excited young adult to a serious young man as soon as Jack asked that question. Jack was more intrigued than ever to know how Johnson joined up with The Company.
