So, with Dressed to Kill on hiatus right now, I'm somewhat at lose ends. I do have several things in the works:

1) fixing the pencils, re-inking and coloring DTK #1. This is still a priority, but whether this sees print may depend on whether Randy wants to continue with the series, or when.

2) Pin-ups for the Highburn Swimsuit book. I've got several prelim sketches done and ready to move on to final art. I think you'll like these. I'm pretty good at the cheesecake, if I say so myself. I'd post the sketches, but I'm waiting on my tax refund to get a new scanner!

3) My story for Kenny's horror anthology. It's in the works, no really :) It's titled "Seven Are They", based in part on an ancient Babylonian myth. I'm in the middle of breaking it down, but it's not the top priority since I'm told this project is still a ways off, and i need to get something out in print by Heroes Con.

4) The Liberators. This is my big project, the one I've been developing bit by bit since for (literally) decades. THIS WILL HAPPEN. I just need to be satisfied that the story is right and that my art can do it justice. I think this is very close. The first issue is plotted and partly scripted. Anybody whose seen my sketchbooks can tell you how big and varied this story is, so i need to get it off to the right start.

5) other funnybooks. That's right, there are at least 3 other comic projects in the works, plus several other short story and novel ideas that may become comics and/or graphic novels as well. I'm trying to push these aside temporarily so i can concentrate on getting the above projects finished; but my brain keeps trying to work on them as well! DAMN YOU, BRAIN!

So I guess I'd better get back to work, huh?

Great stuff, John! The Mesmerica pic is my favorite and the Sprite one has a lot of energy to it. Also liked the Hellboy Pic. never seen that one before.

Thanks Kenny. Hopefully I'll have more up there soon. Can't wait to get a new scanner to speed up the process.

The new scanner is on order and should be here by next week. That should make getting work done a lot faster and more convenient. The script for Liberators 1 is well under way, but the book obviously won't be done by Heroes. For Heroes I'm concentrating on pin-ups both of highburn characters and well known ones; to include Sue Storm, Poison Ivy and Wolverine that are already in the works (and will kick no small amount of ass!) I'm also planning on doing a variant cover for Guardians if Mike gets me that reference in time :)

For after the con: Liberators 1, "Seven Are They" for the horror anthology, and looking for a new place to live in August. Yay!

The pencils are done for the Guardians cover. I'm also going to be drawing 5 pages of the book itself to help out Mike since his sickness put him behind schedule. That all has to be done by June 1. After that it's finishing out the Liberators 1 script, which is mostly done in long-hand but needs to be tightened up and typed. Then back to the pin-ups and painting(s) for Heroes.

Thanks Lyle. I just should've had more finished. Sorry I didn't get to hang out with you more at the show. We'll have to fix that next time we all get together.

It's all good, man. It wouldn't have been too comfortable back there with all of us crammed in there anyway!

We'll definitely hang out later. Maybe when Gwen gets a little older we can have a small gathering at my house, again. Of course, it'll have to be more quiet, with less drinking, but it'll still be fun....hopefully!!

So i got all moved, with help from half the studio! Thanks again to Mike, Kenny and Brynn. Should have all the art stuff set up by this weekend so i can actually get back to work! I'm gonna try to get the hang of this wacom tablet so i can contribute more to the flatting crew. Who knows, it might actually help me get some of my own work done faster :D

No problem, John. It was fun hanging out with all of you in Winston-Salem. It wasn't hard work and I needed to get away from Martinsville for a little while.

You know once everyone gets back to work we can make this battle station fully functional.

So after 2 long months, i finally have a working computer again! YAAAAYYYY!!! So now i can get everything I've been drawing the last few months scanned and colored, and get some more writing done. Look for a bunch of new work on my deviantart gallery soon. Hopefully I'll get to go to Heroes this year. It mostly depends on my job situation as to whether i can afford a table.
