Okay, I'm just going to do a Lyle rant thread, right here. First rant, Spider-Girl is getting cancelled. This angers me to no end. It looks like they ar emoving Mayday's adventures over to Amazing Spider-Man Family, which I'm already reading anyway, which placates me a bit...but that means I'm going to be buying an 80 page book for roughly 34 pages of story. Oh well, I've spent far more money on far stupider things! |

All right, I knew I wouldn't go long without something getting on my nerves. Obama....I have no problem with him. I didn't vote for him, but alot of people did. Good for you. Now, can I quit hearing about him every 5 minutes?! Obama does this, Obama does that, Obama's wife hit me with a wiffle ball bat.... He's even on ANOTHER Savage Dragon cover! I'm cool with Erik Larsen, but does this reek of a sales gimmick, or what?! The guy's won the election! It's over...and yet, people still keep pimping him out like he's Jesus or something! I'm pretty sure even Obama is tired of all of this over-exposure. Also, rest assured, when everything is held this closely under a microscope, then the smallest stain looks like filth. |

Okay, so everything is my fault. It's a fact, now. Something gets screwed up at Wal-Mart, it's my fault. Dog chews up a Christmas gift, it's my fault. Christmas present that I didn't order gets screwed up, it's my fault. Henceforth, here at Highburn Studios, whenever something that goes wrong, whether due to my involvement or not, it is my fault.

Absolutely, it was! Also, you know the voting machines during the election that voted for McCain no matter what? I did that. Also, the Obama campaign repeating "Change" like it was a bum standing on the curb? My fault. That Dominos Pizza you got with Canadian Bacon instead of ACTUAL Bacon... ....it was me. |

Does anyone know why Pizza Hut is still making Pizza?! Seriously! My aunt got me a gift card there for Christmas, and, I am incredibly thankful, as it financed the food for my New Year's Eve party, but man, Papa John's OWNS them any day of the week. Yeah, around here, we have Arthur's Pizza, which is great, and Doughboy's , which is the best pizza EVER (although they never seem to be open when I go to eat there. Maybe they're like that place in the first Mummy movie....it has to be a certain time of day). Still, Pizza Hut used to be awesome....I wonder what happened? Also, in "Lyle loves to rant" news, next week's issue of Amazing Spider-man will feature President Elect, the overplayed Barack Obama on the cover. Yay. Savage Dragon has done it twice, and here comes Marvel, hoping to boost the sales of their flagship character by mooching off of the most overplayed person, place or thing since Hootie and the Blowfish. Ugh, one more reason for me not to buy Amazing, I guess....and I really do miss having this book on my pull list (although, at 3 times a month, I can't afford to have it on there without dropping all the books I really enjoy). |

Lyle, the bad guy. That's me. I'm at a crossroads right now. I get to choose to be thebad guy, or be the good guy. Things are tumultuous as of late for me. We had a showstorm here that was pretty bad, and seeing as how I had to get a new battery for my truck the day prior, I figured I needed to get my ass to work so I could make back the money to pay my friend Scott, who picked up the battery for me. So, I do THE RIGHT THING, and I get up to go to work, despite the snow. I borrow my wife's Blazer, as it is a 4WD, and I head out. About a three miles away, I still can't see where the ditch and the road seperate, so I realize it is too dangerous, and that I shouldn't be driving my wife's vehicle all the way to work like this. So, I do THE RIGHT THING, and I turn down a side-road to go home. Well, I'm a mile down the road, doing about 10 miles an hour, which is THE RIGHT THING TO DO, and the tires lose traction, and the vehicle spins into the ditch-bank, messing up the vehicle pretty badly. I manage to drive out of the ditch, and get home. So, I did the right thing the whole way, but was punished for it. Imagine that?! Now, I'm trying to get my wife's vehicle back in working order before I leave for New York, whole refinancing my home to save us money, and working on pages and such to try and make us a little more money. I've been working non-stop on some sort of plan for the past two weeks, and I've admitted the accident was my fault because it was THE RIGHT THING to do. Of course, me being gone for a week means that I'm automatically the bad guy, no matter what I do. I could cure cancer, but it wouldn't make things right. Screw the right thing. Time to try a little "WRONG". |

Lyle....hero of the little man! Okay, her eI am, on the eve of my trip to New York, and I've FINALLY gotten to a place where I am actively excited for it. I've been an emotional wreck for the last month, thinking about how much it is going to suck to be away from the two loves of my live, Dana and Gwen. (my wife and daughter) Gwen is growing up so fast, I just know I'm going to miss something mportant while I'm gone, and Dana, well, I'll just miss her. She's my other(better) half, after all. Still, all these things have finally been dealt with, and now, I can move forward, I hope. If I can make it across the Virginia border, I'll be fine. Up until that point, I'll be contemplating making Mike and Brynn turn the damn car around so that I can get back to the two people who fuel my daily life. As it stands, I've just been reminding myself that this is FOR THEM. If I can make some prospects and get my name out there, maybe I can make some money, and provide some cash for my family....maybe... Anyways, another day, another rant! See you in a week! |

So, the drama that is New York is almost completely behind me, now, and it's time to move forward. Things are just as crazy in my neck of the woods, but they ar emore MY type of crazy. Working on comics, playing with my insanely happy little girl, and my wife and I are, duh duh duh....getting along. Good times...I'll rant about somethign later. |

Well, here I am without a rant, but I noticed my forum was falling behind, so I figured I'd say something: GO SEE STAR TREK. GO SEE "DRAG ME TO HELL". That is all. DMTH, I haven't seen yet, but it's a Sam Raimi HORROR flick, and it's getting great reviews, so just go see it, or be one of those little douches who goes to see "Angels & Demons" (crap) and miss out on a REALLY good movie. Yes, I know that DMTH comes out AFTER A&D, but I still think you should save your money. Also, Terminator Salvation looks great. |

Well, Terminator is getting slammed by critics, but I'll still go see it. I'd RATHER see Drag Me to Hell, though. That looks badass!! |

I may be a little biased, since I can't stand most modern horror flicks, but I can't understand the allure of Drag Me To Hell. I think it just boils down to the fact that the trailer tells me nothing about what the movie is about. Terminator, on the other hand, I'm thinking I might go see anyways. |

Well, the last few horror movies I've enjoyed were as follows: The Descent Dawn of the Dead (2005) Sean of the Dead Saw 1 & 2 30 Days of Night Diary of the Dead I may think of some more later on, but those are all the ones I've enjoyed in the past 5 years. Most of them are of the aptly-named "Torture-Porn" genre, made famous by Saw and Hostel and the like. Terminator is already being criticised for being alot of chase scenes, explosions, and such, but that's about all I expected, so I'm cool with it. |
