NOTE: Most photos/images can be clicked on for larger viewing 2009 Nest Adoption Challenge - April 15 - June 15, 2009 The Cruzers adopted SEVEN nests (over $7,000 donated) in 2006, adopted EIGHTEEN nests (over $18,000 donated) in 2007, and then in a tremendous effort - adopted THIRTY-NINE nests ($39,333.00 raised) in 2008, in support of the Institute for Wildlife Studies (IWS) and their Bald Eagle Restoration Project! Some of the monies have made it possible for us to watch several bald eagle nests, with an upgraded internet feed and now SOUND!      Star (IWS Nursery) - PH Spirit/Skye - WE Banding - WE - Dr. Sharpe Banding Cruzers and Forum Visitors can participate in "Adopt-A-Nest" beginning Wednesday - April 15, 2009 ! You can give once - twice - or as often as your heart allows! The Cruzers have dedicated themselves to supporting the monumental efforts of IWS and are hosting the 2009 Nest Adoption Challenge - each $1,000 raised adopts a Channel Island Nest! Is there a way you can help make a difference? Yes - every single donation adds up and together, we can adopt one nest at a time! And what is a Cruzer - it is anyone who watches the nests and loves the Channel Island Eagles! How about two - maybe three - even more nests - ! There are several ways that you can make a contribution-: 1. Visit IWS.org by clicking on this link Make a Contribution NOTE: If you pay thru Pay Pal, you must select a quantity to represent your total amount (it allows for $5.00 increments) 2. You can mail checks to: Institute for Wildlife Studies - PO BOX 2500 - Avalon CA 90704 3. Credit card information can be emailed to Peter Sharpe, Ph.D. at IWS: sharpe@iws.org or called directly to Dr. Sharpe at: 310-510-2728  Besides monetary donations, credit will also be given for the following - but you must request 2009 Nest Adoption credit at time of purchase :4. Steffani (go to gal)  Trish (as time will permit - our back up gal / cheerleader)  This Team (Peter and I don't count) - super forum folks (and IWS biologist) have offered their services to oversee and guide the 2008 Cruzer Nest Adoption Challenge along with Steffani's input and support! The birds have been formed from saw blades! A and R Design of Fortuna, CA.  126 - Bradfor Exchange bald eagle collectors plate - "Building For A New Generation" - Robert Copple. He blends photo-realistic wildlife painting and fine art landscape photography into a single image that transcends the boundaries of the separate disciplines: an image one step closer to reality than any artist could render, yet beyond the realistic capabilities of any photographer. Robert Copple is an advocate for nature. Darn I renewed my membership on March 23 rd while on my tour wish I had waited Oh well will be sending more contribution to help our beloved eagles. Great to see it getting going. |

I know I sent in my renewal a couple of months ago. Are these eagle items prizes for something, I feel like I'm missing something. As many of you know, I had surgery on my bicep and shoulder yesterday, so I'm kinda braindead! Splain it to me Lucy.

DVD - Eagles of Catalina OR 2. IWS tour for 3 people OR 3. A nest adoption packet OR 4. One of the item pictured above that have been so kindly and generously donated to help IWS' fundraising effort for the Bald Eagle Restoration Project!
