So today I was at TRU looking for PSP games and decided to check the TF aisle to see if the new Classics were out, and sure enough they were. So I've picked up Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Octane (Tankor). Prowl is so far my fav of the three. I haven't been following TF news much post movie, is that the complete first wave or are there more? |

nope that is the first wave of deluxes i the US (I say that as hasbro uk seem to be omitting Octane from the first assortment. there's a voyager wave of cybertron repaints and an ultra class wave with powerglide and Onslaught which haven't been released yet. |

In an almost unheard of fit of unrestrained spending I got Sunstreaker and Prowl. They both rock. Prowl maybe slightly more than Sunstreaker, but it's a close race. I saw Tankor (Octane) on the shelf but just ... wasn't inspired to get it. |

New Zealand is still waiting for a release of delicious Universe Classics. Hasbro NZ reckons they'll be in the country for the 1st of August, with the shops getting them when they order new stock. So hopefully sooner rather than later. Animated is nice and all, but New Universe really floats my boat. |

I've got prowl (with extra stickers cut to suit from reissue prowl and some paint touchups;)and sunstreaker (in fact two of the later, i feel he might make a good Wheeljack.) no sign of tankor though which is a shame, i've bought a double before seeing the third toy in the wave. |

Well, I found Powerglide and Silverbolt today. No sign of Onslaught though. Both figures are kind of a mixed bag. Powerglide is a cool figure with a good transformation, but he doesn't remind me enough of G1 Powerglide, it almost seems like he could have been released in another line as a completely different character. Silverbolt on the other hand looks so much like G1 Silverbolt its awesome, but the figure is so simplistic that it almost could be a G1 figure (well other than the leg articulation). |

Wave 1 one has begun appearing in NZ, so I snapped all thress deluxes up. Good figures, the Ultras should start appearing by mid September here, along with wave 2 and beyond that. |

I've got all the deluxes (sunstreaker several times over as evidenced by my new topic in the creative section) and i like them all, Octane is weak compared to astrotrain though IMO. haven't seen the voyagers in person but i know that if i ever buy powerglide he'll be repainted red like he's supposed to be. |

cheetor is ok, not great, early beast wars aesthetic with a good beast mode but technology we have now could have made him so much better |

I think he looks alright considering its one of few realistic beast modes that has any articulation. I really like Hound, but his design doesn't mesh very well with the Classics IMO. |

His beast mode is one of the better ones but it does not make up for his hunchback robot mode or lack of articulation. I am very much looking forward to dinobot though, just a shame that Cheetor's robot mode feels like an afterthought. |
