After examining the KOTOR 1 Story if found a few things to be a little too similar to The Original Star Wars Trilogy. -Both Start on a good guy's space ship. KOTOR: Endar Spire OT: Tantive IV -Both have the main characters start on an enemy planet. KOTOR: Taris OT: Tatooine -Both require the main character to become a Jedi n order to defeat the bad guys. KOTOR: Revan OT: Luke -In both the bad guys have an evil Space station that have the word "Star". KOTOR: STAR Forge OT: Death STAR -In both the protagonist has a biological relationship will the secondary bad guy. KOTOR: Protagonist-Revan OT: Luke-Darth Vader -In both, the secondary bad guy has to redeem himself/herself in order to win. KOTOR: Revan OT: Darth Vader Now, please understand. I still think KOTOR is a great game. It's probably the best Star Wars game made, and it has more things different that the OT that similar to it. I wanted to see if anyone else notice these "repeats". ~Mr Dad |

Yeah, I did there are many more. I fing that KOTOR sees inspiration from the trilogy as a whole and A New Hope individually. For example the Leviathan sequence seems to mirror the Death Star in ANH, the rescue, lightsaber dual and everything. But the revelation harks back to ESB. |

The most obvious one is the Ebon Hawk being captured by the leviathan via tractor beam. I immediately thought 'huh, didn't that happen in Episode 4?' Both Vader and Malak have electronic voices. The Ebon Hawk and Milenium (sp?) Falcon are are both cargo/smuggling ships that are surprisingly similar. Leia Organa is a 'Princess.' Bastilla Shan is the 'Jedi Princess.' Also, the poll question is alittle misleading, as if they intentionally copied most of the original trilogy. I'd say they 'paid tribute' to it. |

It has many similarities to the OT, but I feel that helps it. Its overarching story is far different, though. One thing you didn't mention: Revan is very similar to Anakin/Vader. For example, both are good with machines (both built personal droids), they're both the most powerful Force user of their time, both are originally from unknown planets, both are redeemed from the Dark Side, etc. I could go on for a long time. So, it is too similar? No. |
