How to set it up Well now, to set up your emulator follow these simple steps 1 Unzip your emulator 2 There should be a folder called "Roms" if there isn't create one, in this folder you will save all your roms 3 Open Winkawaks.exe 4 Click file> Configure paths 5 In roms 1 browse the path to your "Roms" Folder 6 Cliick file> Load game 7 Make sure that on the right side you have ticks on "Show Cps1","Show Cps2", and "Show Neogeo" That way it wont matter if a game was made on cps1,cps2 or neogeo, you will still be able to see it in your game list 8 Tick "Only available" 9 Click rescan all 10 Click the game you want to play 11 Click the "Game" tab > redefine keys for player 1 12 Set your controls to whatever you want and click ok 13 Play! To get on netplay and be able to play online first you must configure all the things I mentioned above, then: 1 Click "file"> Start netplay 2 Set a username 3 pick a server and see how much ping you have, remember the lower the ping the less lag you will experience Once you find a server you like you can start hosting a game, also remember this server will appear on your recent servers so you can find it easier 4 Click create new game, pick the game you want to host, remember you have to get the correct version of the rom, make sure its not the european version if you have the american version etc. 5 Get a friend or a stranger to join and that way you can play, then click start game and there you go! You can press backspace while playing to chat |

FAQ 1 "I can't play a game!" Make sure you have it and make sure you are trying to play the correct version, if you try to load the world version but you have the European version for example, it won't work 2 "I don't like how the game looks" Well you can go to video, select video blitter and kreed blitters, I recommend supersai 3 "There are some black lines on the game I don't like" Again go to video, and click alternate scanlines 4 "The screen is too small" Go to video,select video blitter, software zoom x2 and there you can choose plain, or with scanlines in case you like those black lines 5 "What else can I do in this video thing?" Well you can set many many things, you could even play in a huge tv screen and you could get it to look fine and not stretched, I suggest you play around with the settings until you find something you like 6 "Are these questions made up on the spot by you?" Well yes yes they are, thanks for noticing, I'll add real ones when people ask >_> 7 "What's that winamp feature?" Well use winamp and activate it and you can listen to your music instead of the game music 8 "I don't have winamp but I want to listen to my music" Well you can always mute the game, to do so go to sound> Qsound options and disable the 3 options shown there, you can also make it louder if you want to. 9 "Why do we need all those kawaks versions?" Because the roms not always work on all versions, I'm not sure why, a game could work on version 1.46 and not work on 1.59 or viceversa, and that's why you should get all 3 versions so you get maximum compatibility 10 I Can't Play neogeo games! You need to get the neogeo.bios linked above and either you put it in your "Roms" folder or when you click "Configure paths" You browse and link to the folder with the bios, that way your emulator will detect the neogeo games, neogeo works seem to only work on version 1.46 of kawaks, so keep that in mind That's it for now folks, you can post now and feel free to ask any questions 11 "Can we play co op games and still get on the record list? Why yes, yes you can, both of the player names will show and it will go in a special section where co op records are 12 "So I took a picture of my score but what do I do next?I mean how do I upload it here?" Well you can go to www.photobucket.com or tinypic.com or any website that can hold your picture. How to submit a record Tell us what game is it, in what version does it run, and what settings How to enter the settings Wait until the start screen loads, then press F11 (predefined but can be changed in the controls) enter configuration> game There you can change the settings or options, how many lives, the difficulty, etc. Change what you want, then hit exit> save and exit>exit Then you can play with your new settings Edited by omarlobo, Feb 13 2009, 07:03 PM.

Thanks MB, shadow should have uploaded his score by now though, but since no one has taken the giga wing record I believe ill beat the game and just see what I get Record updated Nudi, congratulations |
