I just got it today so I haven't played it enough to do a review but I can give my first impression of each game. I'm tired and have a reoccuring headache so please ignore some of the minor errors. ^_^ Metal Slug: This was the first game I played when I started it up. Well its about half an hour a long and I've played through it twice today. Its really fun. Its also hard, but you might not realize it at first because the game gives you infinite continues on all difficulties except insane and maybe hard. I was impressed with the art style and the general presentation of everything. As for the story, you're some blond dude with a gun trying to stop some dude, I'll call him Hitler for lack of another word and his army. You go around destroying everything with handguns, machine guns, shotguns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, knifes, grenades, and of course, the metal slug. There's quite a bit of blood, but at the same time I wouldn't call it violent. Its a really enjoyable game and was an instant favorite. Magician Lord: This is a platformer and quite the hard one at that. You play as a wizard who can transform into things when he picks up orbs. Transformations include dragons, ninjas, poseidon, and more. You have 5 blocks of health. You lose your transformation if it hits 3 or lower. As a wizard you shoot blue cutter thingies at enemies and you can only have 2 out a time. The game features something everyone loves: poor translations and lulz worthy voice acting. The music is pretty amazing to my surprise. But I question if they ripped off anything. There's one track that sounds like it could be from Super Metroid and one that sounds VERY close to Bloody Tears from Castlevania. I've yet to beat this game as I got lost on stage 4 and gave up. It fun and enjoyable, but you will die. You will die a lot. Luckily when you lose a life or use a continue you always start off right where you died. Its enjoyable if you can get over the difficulty and cheesy mistranslated lines. Neo Turf Masters: I suck at this game. But if you suck you'll enjoy it more. You get to see your player break their golf clubs while yelling "AW NO" I can't say much for this game. Its golf. You choose your power then your swing and hope nothing goes wrong. I can't say much here because of that. It can be a nice and easy way to spend half an hour. Shock Troopers: This is like a top down Metal Slug and is just as fun. You have 8 guys to choose from. Each has their own special weapon (flame grenade, bazooka, etc.). They're speed and default weapons also vary. You can move and shot in each direction. Your mission is to stop the Scorpion gang and get back some gay. A special feature is that you can have 3 people on a team. Though they share 1 health bar. There are 3 paths you can take and they all lead to the same place. You have an evasive maneuver button which is used to roll out of the way and comes in handy a lot. Each stage has its own boss but its usually some sort of machine, often a tank. The game is short but fun and very easy to enjoy. How could you not like running around blowing crap up? World Heroes: A slow paced to 2D fighter that still manages to be fun even though every attack can take out a quarter of health. There are 8 fighters, each is a person from history. You have Hulk Hogan, Rasputin, Ghengis Kahn, etc. They go by different names for the most part. You have the traditional arcade mode and then you have a death match mode where you fight an arena with different hazards such as mines, spikes, etc. This mode seems more like wrestling because you have to rely on throws a lot. Its pretty fun for such a poor fighter. The game is good for lulz and is fun to play, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it off the virtual console. Throws do a lot of damage and it even has its own button. The game is short and the minigames are ripped from Street Fighter 2. The final boss is easy but is really random. I won't say how he fights but he's like ditto from Pokemon. Its worth mentioning that you have to unlock it by getting 10 medals in other games. Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory: This is my favorite sports game on the collection. You have tons of teams and like 7 different cups. The matches are short. Maybe 3~ minutes long. Its soccer so I shouldn't have to explain it. You pass the ball and you shoot it in the goal. You can slide to get the ball and you can tackle people. The ref might give you a yellow card though. When you score a goal the player does some epic sort of victory maneuver. When you win the announcer yells WIN! When you win the game he yells TRIUMPH! It may seem simple but it is very fun and addictive. I'll get to the others in due time. I have a lot to say and I don't feel like writing it all right now. And I'll answer any questions you all might have for me. Edited by MarioBro24, Aug 11 2009, 02:35 PM.

Yup. You have World Heroes, Art of Fighting, King of Fighters 94, King of the Monsters, Fatal Fury, and Samurai Shodown. Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters are my favorites out of the list. They are more fast paced and the battles are longer. King of the Monsters is more wrestling and has button mashing to get up which get painful. Fatal Fury and World Heroes just don't feel right to me. They're slow and regular moved do a lot of damage, and special moves just pwn. I suck at Art of Fighting. |

aw, Art of Fighting was my first arcade game ever so it holds a special place in my heart :'( (and one of the reasons i love fighting games) Mb you should enjoy Art of Fighting not much for its gameplay because its a bit rubbish but for everything else the music the sound effects and story. the "HAO SHO KO KEN the wooden pole" minigame is the best thing next to instant noodles *PAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW* xD *hint go with Robert he is better >> <<* |

SSBB Mario Bros Stage King!

I dont like fatal fury although I gotta admit the battle system is very original. You should play metal slug with a friend, invite pat or something, metal slug is just so much better with firends, its more epic and more lulzy. (played metal slug on daily basis with his math teacher) |
