I'm sure anybody who owns a Wii has heard of this game made in part by Steven Spielberg. Has anybody really tried it? I was skeptical at first, but proven wrong quickly

Concept: 10/10
Its so simple! You shoot balls at blocks to make em do stuff. Sounds boring, right? Wrong. The physics engine makes this game so much fun. The concept of a physics based game has been done before, but I don't think every quite so perfectly.

Gameplay: 10/10
The game really shines with its gameplay. Like I said, its a simple concept which lasts a long time. There's a number of different modes, and puzzles that will keep you going for a while. After you beat all of them, there's nothing left to do, really, but they'll keep you gaming long enough for it to be worth your 50 bucks.

Graphics: 8/10 They get the job done. Nothing overly flashy, but they look decent. Effects are done nicely, there's just nothing overly special.

Sound: 6/10
This is the games weak point. The music is decent but gets boring fast, and my mom described the sound coming out of the remote when you throw as "those annoying hospital breathing things". the kids cheering when you complete a puzzle just made me wanna go FFFFFFFF and kill someone.

Lasting Appeal: 10/10
There's so many unlockables, which you can only get by completing every single puzzle on gold, without fail. There's a freaking create mode, which you can make your own puzzles and stuff in, and just start blasting away. You can also get more create stuff from unlockables. There's adventure and explore mode, each with lots of puzzles. Multiplayer even.

But even without all that extra stuff, its just one of those games where you're playing a puzzle, you fail, and go "okay, one more time" and then next thing you know its 12 o clock at night and you don't know wtf happened.

Overall: 9/10
With a few minor flaws, this game is major fun, and a model for what all games should be: Casual, not overly competitive, and is going to keep you happy and having fun no matter how many times you fail. Boom Blox is definitely a game you should put on your wish list, and one of my favorite Wii games so far.

And btw, I've been stuck on the same puzzle for 2 days, and still having fun with it D:

I've been interested in this game for a long time now, but still haven't taken the time and money to try it out yet.

Woah woah woah wait
"and a model for what all games should be: Casual, not overly competitive, and is going to keep you happy and having fun no matter how many times you fail."

IT should not by any means be a model for what all games should be, I rented this game and regretted it oh so much, at first its really fun, then when you go halfway the game in it just gets tedious of the same stuff, I don't mean the same concept, I mean that the answer to everything is pretty much the same.
The game is easy as hell, I finished it in like 3 hours, got all the golden medals and just left me a bitter taste, I did not enjoy this game in the very least (my opinion, not saying that's how it is)

The game is lackluster and if you really MUST try it at least get boom blox 2, it's more of the same but probably better.

Omar is a true hard core gamer. When he plays a game he gets everything done then play its 20 more times doing crazy arse challenges. It would make sense for a game such as this to offend him.

I haven't tried it yet. It looks like Super Jenga. Jenga is fun but then you have to rebuilt it.

I'm not going to comment on the quality of the game or any business such as that, but I don't agree that ALL games shouldn't be competitive. That's the point of genres and variety in gaming. Not EVERy game should be about competition, but it works really well for some games. like shmups, and sports game.

I wouldn't say "fail". I have more fun just playing around in brawl than actually competing, but I do see the fun there is to be had.

Competition is one thing, people cursing at eachother and throwing their remotes is another.

thats just being a whinney bitch, I have had lots of fun just messing around with bombs and high damage, or silly kinds of games like tag with gooey bombs, but also I love trying to win in an epic fight.

So yeah a game like brawl with no chance to be laid back and make your own rules or if it always was like that would be kind of dull
