Japanese Mythology is some interesting stuff, cause we all know how interesting Japan can get. Okami is a game based directly off of old Japanese mythology, a game originally for the PS2, ported to the Wii. And there's nothing I can say except its a DAMN good game. Story: 10/10 I really wish I could give it a high score, but unfortunately 10 is as high as it'll go. The story is just phenomenal in every way. You play as the god Okami Amaterasu in wolf form, who's lost a lot of his power and needs to go find them again. I'm not going to try to explain the story because its just so awesome that I really can't do it justice. Just know that while story isn't usually important for me, the story for this game is just out of this world epic. Gameplay: 9.5/10 Okami is at home on the Wii, especially with IR support. combat is fun and simple, but stylish and epic at the same time. You can equip a weapon as well as a subweapon, which makes some really fun combinations. Both melee attacks as well as the use of your paintbrush are implemented in combat, which gives room for some really stylish and awesome combos. I'm going to say now that this game plays a LOT like a Zelda game but with one main difference: the dungeons are FUN. When playing Twilight Princess, I couldn't wait for them to end, and when I got to the first one in this game, I kind of got nervous. But they're WAY more fun than in most Zelda games, and I truly enjoy them all the way through. Controls: 8/10 If this game had a major drawback, it would be controls. And thats mostly because of the painting, I always seem to have trouble with it. IDK, maybe I'm just retarded? Anyway, the controls are for the most part, fluid and easy, except when it comes to painting. Graphics: 10/10 How often have you played a game where the graphics do more than make you see what you're doing? In most of my previous reviews, I've mentioned graphics not being important to me, and usually, they're not. Okami is an exception. And its proof that you don't need a fancy system or more power to make a game look beautiful. Okami doesn't just have good graphics, its actually pretty and beautiful, almost wondrous. The game looks like a well done painting, and its truly breathtaking. Sound: 10/10 The music in this game is almost as beautiful as the graphics are. Okami has taken 2 very unimportant aspects of a game and blended them together so that they really make the game, instead of just being an unimportant part of it. The music is as pretty as the graphics, and give the game an ambient, relaxing atmosphere. Overall: 9.5 out of 10 I don't think I've ever played a Wii game that gave me such a warm feeling. Its like they took the newest Zelda and did everything perfect, creating what could very well be one the best Wii games out there. Its so horribly underrated, and its kind of sad that it got so little sales. Its truly a classic. Its more than just a game, its a great story and above all, a work of art, a masterpiece. If you haven't played this game yet, you need to. simple as that. |

I got about ten or thirteen hours into this game before selling it. Now that I can get it for like $15 I may pick it up again. It was a pretty good game, but I think it gets more credit than it deserves. Also the controls on the Wii got more annoying than it should have, especially since you'd think this would be a good fit for it. |

I rented Okami once a while back. It seemed pretty promising at first, but the stupid painting is what ruined it for me. Got sick of having to repaint everything multiple times for it to register what I was trying to do. D: Everything else was fun, but that damn painting... That, and the skanky-looking spirit geisha lady both annoyed and creeped me out. Eh, I'm with HMS on this one. Might go get it and try again. |

XD wasnt painting the main premise of this game? if you didnt found it to be good this game was not for you D: i rented the ps2 one a long time ago and i had to return it the very same day for i couldnt get past the very beginning where the little thing tought you to paint in the hills due to a freeze that always happened before you go to the first town. |

painting isn't the main premise, its an important concept of the game but its not the main premise. Its like saying Zelda's main premise is archery or swordfighting. |

DX You guys are so fucking lucky. The only place I can find it is on Ebay, and fuckers there are shitcunts so their minimum price is $50..>_______> They dont sell it in shops ANYWHERE in Australia. I seriously, really want Okami. Just cant find it anywhere -____- Might just have to get it off Ebay, FFS. |
