This is crossposted with permission from Dee who is a good friend and former boarding mate of mine. There are picutres of Junior in the picture section of the Mississippi Trail Riders group on Yahoo Groups. I'll try to get the pics on here from the home computer, no access to photobucket right now at work. I spoke with Dee this morning and they are having some people gather at a friend of her's in the area for a ride to search for this horse this Saturday. Any help would be appreciated. She is running some ads in the papers and on radio and has contacted vets, auctions and placed flyers around in the feed stores and everywhere she can think of. Getting the word out is important. It is likely this horse may have been taken in by someone as he is a very nice flashy gaited horse. Please help spread the word throughout our horse community to be on the alert for this horse. There is a reward, I'm uncertain how much, but Dee's phone # is above. Please contact her with any info on her beloved Junior. He was moved to a friend of hers and a fence on the back upper pasture was down, he left. He was tracked by a Deputy Sherrif to another pasture where he evidently was put in, but again, a downed fence on the back where no one visits much allowed him to leave that pasture as well. It's a pretty big area for him to be loose in, so any help will be so appreciated. |

I once had my gelding go missing in that same area. We looked for 2 weeks! I filed TWO "missing horse" reports with the sheriff's office, which they seemed not so worried about taking and acted as though there wasn't a previous file on record. I also posted Lost/Reward flyers on every street sign and inserted in every mailbox. Finally, an individual called and had the horse in her possession. She mentioned that her son had stated he wanted a horse earlier that night before arriving home and finding a horse in her front yard. She had her father haul the horse to Utica, MS. However, since I was offering a REWARD (and she was in need of money), she was reporting that she found him... I wasn't too sure what to think about her story, but I was very happy to have him back. Perhaps posting flyers in the neighborhood, local stores/gas stations and vet clinics within the county could increase your chances of his return. I wish your friend the very best of luck and I will pray for her during her search. I know how heartbreaking and frantic one can be when their beloved horse is missing. |

Thanks Angela. I know it must be very traumatic to lose a beloved horse. Dee was pretty distraught. There is a reward for this horse's safe return. I don't think the search produced any results, so he is still missing. It's quite obvious that someone has him. I sure hope Dee is able to be reunited with Junior. |

Nope, Junior has not been found nor returned. There is a reward for his safe return, not sure how much, but the contact info is still good. |

Someone was asking about a rescue horse taken to the parchman prison program that was a paint gelding but he had a tri-color mane. We just wanted to make sure. We don't always know where these horses come from. Pretty horse. Hope she finds him. Thanks for posting the pictures. |
