Swad TT Course

I have noticed that the road surface on part of the Swad TT course is becoming quite bad where it is breaking up left right and centre. The part in question is the road from Cadley Hill Island towards Drakelow Power Station. It is particularly bad round most of the bends so if you go up there watch out.

I have slowly watched this road get worse over time, as I often go that way to the New Inn. If it was just one short bit I would complain to the Highways department at the council, but a few mile stretch may be asking a bit too much! :o

I go that way to the New Inn too and I've noticed how bad it's getting.

Shame really because those bends after you go under the railway bridge are superb.

I think that a link road is a long way off becoming a reality, although don't quote me on it.

I'm glad its not just me that has noticed the state of the road. Maybe a few complaints to Derbyshire County Council wouldn't go amiss. Does anyone know the actual official name of the road in question?

I might look into 'complaining' about it. I won't mention the words - Swad TT Course though! :2_lol

I've made a complaint via the proper online form as found on Derbyshire Council's Highway Departments website. Here is the link if anyone else wants to do the same. The more people who do mention it to them, the more likely something is to get done about it.

When complaining about roads, point out that you are a motorcyclist and that there are health and safety issues.

I got my road gritted winter before last playing that trick.....told 'em I had a good chance of sliding into the main service road on the estate.
had the gritter there next day.....

Email to the Chief Engineer did the trick :Up

Don't worry I did mention that it was a particular hazard to Motorcyclists. :Up

Somehow I can't see them doing an awful lot about it. It is a whole stretch of a couple of miles that is breaking up. :(

i noticed today that on the A513 out of Tamworth towards Elford etc - that there is Big wooden posts on the 1st right hand bend after leaving the 30 limit (Near the school) - massive posts on a bend thats tricky anyway.

they are the same posts that are on the A515 as you come out of Kings Bromley and head towards Yoxall - right on the side of the road on a bend!!!

they are biker killers, but i certainly wouldnt like to hit them in any vehicle

Well I've received a computer generated email back from the council giving me a case number and a link to the online tracking system so I can see how this case is going on. Big thumbs up so far. :Up
