The Grim Reaper.

hi.
on my laptop the powersupply adaptor on the back packet up.
is there anyone who has enough knowledge and could help me to do some whats not really safety and manufactory recommended?

i was thinking if someone can open it, get the fucked adaptor on the back out and fix the powerlead straight into it.
saves money for parts. batterie is dead anyway. is an old maschine but all data on it.
cant afford paying 50 £ for repairs at the shop plus another 50 for them to do so.

any help available? got powerlead, brandnew ( multi lead )

tanx

Hi mate
Id advise against bypassing the battery as in most laptops that acts as the safety to stop it surging and blowing the laptop. However if you do indeed think its the best avenue then make sure your power lead has a surge protector (or you can get one that plugs straight into your socket). If you do indeed think its the best avenue then i can take a look at it next time i down burton way which will probably be the weekend but i cant promise id be able to do it but i can take a look if you want.

The Grim Reaper.

this would be fine. tanx.
i know is not the way to do it, but a new socket in the back is an MI5 ( mission imposible 5 action ) i guess.
dont know where to get one from and dont want to pay a lot out just for getting it working again.
the batterie is gone since i bought him, he worked only with the lead anyway.
all i want is the socket removed as it is faulty now and the cable straight in the laptop. not bypassing the batterie.
leave the batterie just the cable attached to the laptop and work it on this way.
