Welcome fellow dragons and friends to the Grand Timeline of Sleeping Dragons! Please allow me to display times of previously uncharted happenings, and the legends of past and present leaders! Key for the timeline: Red - Joining/promotions/departures of current and former Great Wyrms Orange - Joining/promotions/departures of current and former Wyrms Green - Events or notable actions with other clans Plain - Notable actions/clan changes that don't fit into the above category. The Grand Timeline of Sleeping Dragons Sleeping Dragons is Born (February - May 05) Approximate member count: 11 Our humble clan was created on January 29th, 2005. Our founders, Kanchellsis and LostNSpace, broke off from Synergy because of the leadership there and started Sleeping Dragons with nine other people, a majority of which were also from Synergy. Things started slow, typically only having two events a month; a raid (Instilling Arpking since our founding) and a minigame event. Attendance wasn’t really even required, just a chance for friends to get together. Our original requirements was level 60 combat, and a skill over 60. In April our founders had a child, and LostNSpace stepped down from leadership. Clugred was promoted to lead with Kanchellsis, but in May she too resigned, leaving Clugred and Kemplos in charge. At this time, wounds were healed, and Sleeping Dragons allied with Synergy, and with The Sabres, the oldest Runescape and arpking clan. Notable new members at this time were: Freppition, Clugred, AWeirdWoman, Jvaljean, Vranakumpel, Dragoneye 79 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Arpking Federation is Formed (June - November 05) Approximate member count: 25 June brought about a grand idea: all Arpking clans joining under one banner in an entity called The Federation. Sleeping Dragons stood alongside Synergy, Wilderness Guardians, The Sabres, The Death Jesters, and others, bringing massive attendance for large joint raids. The response to the idea was monumental with over 600 registrations on The Federation’s forum. Sadly, power struggles and lack of respect plagued this union, and the raiding in such situations became abysmal. Arguments over raid gear standards and adhering to the Arpking rule while not with clan led to Sleeping Dragons being removed from The Federation in late July, and the entity soon died, choked by the fighting within. Most events at this time were scheduled so that both Europeans and North Americans could take part at good times. Two versions of the same event would take place, with leaders from the timezone leading. We also had many scheduled events on weekdays. King Black Dragon trips were Mondays and Thursdays, Castle War games on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Raids on Saturdays and Sunday. At the end of August Sleeping Dragons celebrated the 100th member registration mark. In September the clan was moved to Thesleepingdragons.com, created by ChessSpider. At the end of the month Kemplos resigned and Clugred followed suit in November. Notable new members at this time were: Drake1031, Hacker275, 1HotLassy, QuantumDogma, Sir Bumpy, Kidnipspal ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rapid Leadership and Other Changes (December 05 - May 06) Approximite Member count: 30 With the departure of Kemplos and Clugred, new leaders emerged. Clugred had left Hacker371 in charge, who then put Lithium Halo as co-leader. At this time Lithium had talked many friends into joining our clan; friends that didn’t like the arpking rule. Lithium pressured Hacker317 to allow the arpking rule to be revoked and many left in protest. ChessSpider was having trouble with the clan’s new forums, so we reverted back to Invisionfree for our forum. About this time Hack371 resigned and Lithium Halo was now in charge with 1HotLassy and Dragoneye 79 as backup. A few weeks later, Lithium quit and 1HotLassy and Dragoneye, under the watchful eye of freshly returned Kanchellsis, corrected what Lithium had done and led us into the new year. Also, because of Kanchellsis’ return while creating a new clan, multiclanning was also allowed for a short time. Once things were as they were before, Kanchellsis left and many of our old members returned. In January, Sleeping Dragons initialized a combat reward system to boost our overall combat level. If people leveled from 80 to 90 combat in two weeks, they were rewarded with 500k. If they went from 90-100 combat in 2 weeks they were given a cannon. If they went from 100-110 combat in three weeks, they were given a d med helmet. Because of the lack of activity during this time, events were slowed to typically weekends to stimulate more active attendance. Funnytravis led a majority of the combat events at this time because he was the member with the highest combat. Dec 6 05 - SD moves it's official forums back to Invisionfree Dec 7 05 - Drake1031 leaves Dec 11 05 - Tomo678 joins Dec 18 05 - Fight Pits war with Black Dragon Mafia Feb 3 06 - Drake1031 rejoins Feb 8 06 - True Kohyru rejoins Feb 18 06 - Mhhhmmhhmmhh joins March 06 - ChessSpider leaves March 11 06 - Fight Pits with The Sabres March 27 06 - Fight Pits & Raid with Synergy March 30 06 - Quantumdogma promoted to Great Wyrm April 15 06 - Fight Pits & Raid with The Sabres April 22 06 – Gumby 88 joins SD May 1 06 - AgentManatee resigns May 21 06 - Kat O Nine joins SD May 25 06 - Founding/Allying celebration for The Crusade ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Leadership and the Clan as a Whole Stabilizes (June - October 06) Approximate number of members: 40 Under the leadership of our several new Great Wyrms, guided by our founder Kanchellsis, our clan continues to grow into a renewal period. The family atmosphere is restored, bonds are strengthened, and a steady stream of new hatchlings join. It is at this time that leadership, rather than being a dictatorship-like rule before, is distributed among the Great Wyrms who control general sections of clan life, with Wyrms leading the departments in those sections. This insures that work is shared and the main leaders won’t get burnt out like they had before. 1HotLassy resigned her position as leader to continue her education in June, leaving QuantumDogma, Dragoneye 79, and newly promoted Jvaljean as our leaders. Not all was smooth sailing in the clan during this time, though. Radierreb was caught in a scheme trying to usurp power from our Great Wyrms, and fill a leadership seat with himself. Thankfully after his plans were discovered, he was banned. He has since created his own clan, and was hostile to some of our members for a time, but a truce of sorts has since been devised. June 7 06 - Level requirement goes up from combat level 80 to 85 June 8 06 - Jvaljean is promoted to Great Wyrm June 19 06 - 1HotLassy resigns- True Kohyru leaves to another clan June 24 06 - AWeirdWoman returns after hiatus June 27 06 - Drake1031 promoted to Wyrm July 10 06 - Power is distributed among Great Wyrms and Wyrms - Creation of the three Weyrs: Events, Forums, and Human Resources July 12 06 - AWeirdWoman and Cammy promoted to Wyrms July 28 06 - Radierreb banned for failed leadership coup Aug 13 06 - Pest Control with The Crusade Aug 26 06 - AWeirdWoman and Drake1031 promoted to GW Aug 27 06 - Xelac2 joins SD Aug 29 06 - New boards layout, using the "Weyr" categories Sept 1 06 - Tomo678 and Kidnipspal promoted to Wyrm - Vranakumpel leaves SD Sept 2 06 - True Kohyru returns to SD Sept 21 06 - Dragoneye 79 returns to SD Oct 06- Month's themed events: King Daggonoths Oct 7 06 - True Kohyru promoted to Wyrm Oct 8 06 - Junior leaves SD Oct 11 06 - Aegian resigns to the rank of Ancient Dragon Oct 22 06 - Multiclan event with The Sabres and The Crusade Oct 24 06 - Drake1031 resigns ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New Direction? Clan Asks for Best of Both Worlds (November 06 - February 07) Approximate number of members: 50 The council put forth a serious question: Protectors of the wild? Masters of crafts? Or...Both? It was voted that Sleeping Dragons would continue to hold both skilling and wilderness events. Promotions saw many new leaders in the form of Wyrms as the clan saw continual growth. New awards were given during this time. We first saw the Dragon of the Month vote in December, which was originally thought up by SunnBunny. Quantumdogma also suggested that an idea that was previously used, the Activity Rewards, be reinstated. Under this contest that was fine-tuned by the Council, the top 3 most active members of the month would receive an award from the clan coffers. Nov 3 06 - Council asks clan what direction to go, is answered with definite answer of both wild and skilling events Nov 17 06 - Council votes to ally with Valeria Victrix, but it is never officially finalized Nov 24 06 - Iron war training with Valeria Victrix Dec 8 06 - Drake1031 returns Dec 18 06 - "Dragon of the Month" vote started with it's first winner: Kat O Nine Dec 27 06 – Rooftop470 joins SD Jan 4 07 - Activity Rewards is reinstated to reward highest event attendance and clan activity Jan 5 07 - Cancer57 and Kat O Nine promoted to Wyrm Jan 11 07 – Blk Magic19 joins SD Jan 28 07 – Davidnalton joins SD Jan 26 07 - Kat O Nine & True Kohyru's Wedding Feb 3 07 - Mhhhmmhhmmhh promoted to Wyrm Feb 19 07 – Rick95051 joins SD Feb 24 07 - Castle Wars with The Sabres Feb 25 07 - Fishing VS Mining with The Crusade Feb 26 07 - AWeirdWoman writes first State of the Clan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Surge of New Members and A Sharpening of the Scimmies (March – July 07) Approximate number of members: 70 With these new incentives in place, Sleeping Dragons saw it’s largest growth of new hatchlings in it’s history, with nearly 20 in just over a month’s time. Attendance also showed major growth, with both new and old members, making this one of the most active times in Sleeping Dragons. This was also one of the most peaceful times to be in this clan. Masterful leadership and hard working members had created a relaxing, efficient, and comfortable environment - one which many other clans can only dream of. With our clan’s membership surpassing 100 during this time, it had become important to continue to purge the wild of Random Player Killers. Needed to undertake such a task, our members were war trained and battle hardened, becoming a force to reckon with in the wild. First Dragoneye 79, who was among the first few to join the clan, followed five days later by QuantumDogma. To fill this large hole, the sage Cancer 57 and forum whiz Mhhhmmhhmmhh was promoted to lead the clan. During this time Sleeping Dragons enjoyed a well-stocked clan bank. Ran by Herb Paris, Agentmanatee, Blk Magic19, and Mollygremlyn, if ever a member needed some supplies to raise a skill, they could get them from the clan bank for typically a discounted price or for the products produced. It also held items that may be needed for events, and armor used in wars. Its stock was up kept by member’s donations and supply collecting events; with our generous members, it was never without anything needed for long. July 31 07 – Dragoneye 79 resigns Aug 5 07 – QuantumDogma resigns Aug 17 07 - Merilinen joins SD Aug 26 07 – New clan home world for nonmembers set to World 90 Aug 29 07 – Cancer promoted to Great Wyrm Sept 2 07 – Cabbages on Fire with VI Sept 15 07 – Herb Paris promoted to Wyrm Sept 22 07 – Drop Party with VI Sept 29 07 – Free for all Ally Wars Sept 30 07 – Raid with VI Oct 16 07 – Rick95051 & Mollygremlyn’s Wedding Oct 20 07 – Ally Parade with OIP Nov 3 07 – Joint Raid with VI Nov 11 07 – Rick95051 promoted to Wyrm Nov 30 07 - Kat O Nine resigns - Castle Wars with Scarlet Empire Nov 25 07 – OIP’s Getting to Know You Party Dec 2 07 – Mhhhmmhhmmhh promoted to Great Wyrm - Slave Auction Bank Benefit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A New Clan Outlook and Democracy Reigns (Dec 07 – June 08 ) Approximate number of members: 100 With the drastic changes made to Runescape late in 2007, Sleeping Dragons had to adapt. Our founding anti-pker principle was now obsolete, and the bank was now longer able to function. SD had no choice but to become a clan of friends, with events at the heart. Some chose to depart and quit during this time, in one way or another. A group that was unhappy with Sleeping Dragon’s leadership splintered off to make another clan, Skillers Unite. This caused a great deal of stressful times, but ultimately has cleared up, and we wish them well. In late January, the Great Wyrms announced a new way members may gain a leadership position of Wyrm - by a voting in by their peers. Of the eight spots, five are voted on, 2 are Great Wyrm appointed, and one is Wyrm council appointed. Anyone with a rank of adult dragon or above is eligible and will serve for half a year. This allowed newer members that have proven their worthiness to reach the second highest ranking without waiting several more months to move up the ranks. In mid-May, Sleeping Dragons received another leadership double whammy when within two weeks of each other, Cancer57 and JvalJean resigned as Great Wyrms. After collaboration, the two remaining leaders chose Mollygremlyn to succeed the late Great Wyrms. A short time later, Rick95051 was chosen to fill the remaining Great Wyrm Council seat. First, a discussion of increasing the entry requirements had been one that re-emerged every few months, but the overwhelming interest and discussion led to an increase of three non-combat skills to join the clan. This was deemed the best scale to judge a prospective member's character and ability to participate at events. Secondly, there was concern that the joining application wasn't apt to fully know what a soon-to-be member was all about, so Onyxfbf drafted a more in depth version. A few tweaks later, the application was put into affect. Who knows what more these new go-getters in the Council will bring about, but one can only imagine that it will alter Sleeping Dragons only for the better. I was there. That's where you and I first met, Aidan. Eregon CD (founder of Synergy) left Synergy and wanted to put Kanch in as leader but she left to create SD. Wiz ma Ter campaigned hard for the top slot and as soon as she got it she ran Synergy into the ground. MadMurdock took the leadership away from her and revived Synergy to some degree but he could only hold it together as long as he dedicated all of himself to the task. That's an obvious recipe for burnout. The best of Synergy made its way to SD. Aidan, Agentmanatee, GMTao, etc. |

also, qd might kill me for telling you this, but I had him open the old site up awhile ago. It is still there i checked, but get him to open it. THere is a ton of history lodged in tehre. Just set teh posts to the beginning and look. I also am looking through my old files to find pics. I found some old ones from the sabres, but they are no good. |

Sleeping Dragons' previous forums Rick, Let me know when you want to get access to the previous forums. They should contain the posts from January 2005 until April 2006 when we moved here. I'll have to open the boards so you can register there. I don't like leaving them on-line because we have people try to sign up with SD there. We went through a period where ChessSpider focused his resources and built a different forum for us. We had problems because we had too many people posting and it was causing the server to bog WAY down. If I remember correctly, they actually refused to host our forums there anymore. Q. D. |

I don't think the posts from Jan to august are there anymore, if I remember correctly Hacker wiped all the old posts when he moved SD back from thesleepingdragons.com, but if they are still there, I wouldn't mind having a look also QD. I did have a backup of the database from the website, but I think I deleted that, I know I still have some stuff, but I don't think I have the full forums like I used to. Yeah the hosting company caused me in particular a lot of problems, but we had resolved that, hacker decided he wished to move back again anyway :P |

Our old forums are now back online for anyone who is feeling nastalgic, but they are in Read Only mode. I added the Scrolling remonder and our current ShoutBox there. People on both sites should be able to communiacte together over the ShoutBox. Q. D. |

I remember I think i Joined 15 of June 2005, a week later i was promoted to ancient dragon due to me being co leader of the hunters with aegian. Aegian left and I became hunters leader, but retained ancient dragon rank. I can't remember when i became recruitment leader I can try to find that out. Also I headed up the junior clan. The clan didn't get enough recruitment and publicity, so i t eventually died out, but not before producing some fine dragons. Youarethepoo, youpoo2( i think his name had poo in it), bezerkjoe and wookeenight. The pics for the big costume drop party thingy are from that. I have a bunch of pics from clan trips a few years ago. I am gonna try to find them. Also, also, when i joined (kanch was leader) the clan had a guild sort of thingy where quotas had to be made and then given to the clan bank. (communism anyone j/k :P ) I don't know much about that other than i donated 1k nats to it one month. |

O YEA! I remember something.. At one point Dragoneye had gotten us another website. I think it was like sleepydragons.com or something. We used the domain name thesleepingdragons.com for it but that ran out after a week and then we stoped payin for the website after 2 months i think. Im tryin to remember when that was but cant remember now. Also, Kat and Trues Wedding! Jan 26 2007 And another big event was Sunns event where us Sabres and Crusades i think it was all got together. I couldnt find the date since i cant see event forum but someone could check. the topic might still be at the back. I dont no if this is already in your time line rick but I didnt see it. Who has been jostling the old forums? I was taking a nap there! I looked at the clan list and recoginized some old friends. I have resigned as a sage in another clan (the unforgotten) and I'm considering rejoining sd, if i can make time for it. |

Remembered another thing. I had left once before. I dont know when it was but I think it was towards the beginning of this school year cause I was tryin to play less since i went into HS. Im pretty sure it was in early August. I came back in early September. I rembmer I came back around the time True did on Sept 2 06, not sure if it was before or after (im thinking before though) I dont know where to find it and sorry for the wide time span. Ill try to get the information. |

I've heard it many different ways. Lost_N_Space, LostNSpace, Lost N Space, etc... Unless Kanch corrects me, I had decided to just leave it how it is, knowing that most people would know who I'm talking about anyhow. Mhh, I remember reading these posts, but because it was such a short time, I didn't bother to add it. If people left with intentions of returning, I considered that a break rather than a departure. YATP, I believe I stated it that way, or at least to an extent. That time is very sketchy I think to everyone because the leadership changes were all in such a short time. Based on (somewhat conflicting) information from multiple people, I made it as accurate as I could. |

While i was going to type a nice long outline here, it got totally screwed, which still proves the point that i just cannot do anything in rs as long as my children aren't in school. BUT HEY if you guys are still around in four years, you never know, i might make it back
;) I've got to say to hi to everyone really fast...HEY EVERYONE! I MISS YOU!! And clear up just a few tiny points....lost n space and i are married. WE BOTH had a child (our second). I was so heart broken about leaving the clan, but i couldn't take care of it as was needed. i can't believe how much i missed in the last two years. I'm very grateful for jval. He was always such a pillar of excellance. Vrana, where ever you are...you're contributions won't go unrecognized. Oh i wish i could name everyone here. Kemp, Clug..SD would have died without you two beside me. Even SUSIE!! (sudeki cd)...ok ok, this was supposed to be short. i'll get back to you on specifics. oh aidan...chessspider, oh i've got to run. YATP, natually I would love to add when ALL departments were formed, and the people that led them, but such a task would take sooo much time. Records of this would be scattered across tons of sections, and tracking it all down isn't something I really feel interested in going through again anytime soon. However, if anyone knows when a department was formed, I would be happy to add it to the timeline. Kanch, firstly, thank you for confirming Lost N Space's RSN. I also added you on MSN, so I hope I could get you to better discribe everything and anything I missed/messed up. |
