Better kick this one off I guess. Dont have enough time right now to go into detail on this so all additions are welcome (as ever) but I really think this game is going to be one of the cornerstones of our season. We simply MUST win this one imo. The return of some old favourites (and some not so) will see a determined Sunderland giving this match their best shot. Hopefully we'll be strong enough to see them off! COYS |

I've voted for a loss. No creativity in the side, the oak tree in midfield, Crouch up front. We'll just be smacking it up to Crouch, watching him win the header then watching Keane make a hash of getting the knock down. |

Defoe's back for this one Whammy, so it's either Defoe & Keane up front or Defoe & Crouch. 'Arry will definitely start with JD and one of the afore mentioned two, and I can see a midfield of Palacios, Krancjar, Jenas & Bentley. It's our defence that worries me. Bassong is hamstrung (maybe out for uo to five weeks), so that leaves two from Ledders, Woody or Dawson. No disrespect to any of them but it's a settled defensive pairing we need, not different central defenders every week. On the plus side Sunderland are missing Kenwyne Jones through suspension along with their talismanic Albanian captain Lorik Cana. Lee Cattermole is out injured so they have three key players out who, if fit, would be in their starting eleven. Let's hope the red & white striped shirts of this Saturdays opponents don't evoke memories of our last home game at WHL to Stoke, who played in red and white and came away with all three points. Sunnerland always bring a good vocal support and with all the ex Spurs in their team desperate to prove a point against their old club this could possibly be a high scoring game that could go either way. |

preston and peterboro are the level we are at right now, but it wont be long before we're back up amongst the stoke's and the burnley's and the hull's of this world. we're not doing too bad for a small club north of yorkshire.... ooohh!! i've just checked the average attendances for this season so far and.... maybe we're not as small a club as some would have us believe.

2-0 to us. keane back to playing with a striker he knows instead of trying to work out Crouch. And our defenders know every move that Bent has. |

I think this is a win. I'm fairly positive that Sunderland will get on the scoreboard and it most likely will be Bent. But I think with Defoe back, we'll have more "attack" in our attack. Maybe we are having a mini-crisis of confidence, but remember, we beat a Prem club at mid-week, so its not like we've had a string of losses and are trying to snap out of it somehow. The back pairing will be key, but hopefully we can throw King out (even in a diminished state) and Woody (if his head's on straight now). ..........................................................Gomes..................... Corluka (but would prefer Hutton).........King..Woody.....................BAE Bentley............................Palacios...Jenas............................Kranjcar ..................................Defoe..Keane (although would prefer Crouch) |

I don't think Bassong is fit to play, due to the hamstring being plucked. I'm also not sure about Lennon being fit either....hopefully not due to mental unfitness after the gruff he took from 'Arry giving him a bit of a dig. |

Must, must, must win this game. Bent is bound to shin one in at some stage but im fairly confident we'll get 3 points so i'll say 2 or 3-1. Lennons' out of this one btw. |

As far as Bent's concerned, I think if he's thwarted a few times or has a couple of shots go miles off target then his head will go down and he'll go missing. With us he never seemed to have that determination to see a game right through unless he was on song and banging them in from the get-go so keeping him out early is going to be key. If he does score early on in the piece (I mean its almost a dot on the cards that he's going to bag one at some point) then he could go rampant if he's given the service but hopefully we'll be able to break down their attacks and prevent the ball getting to him too often. That's looking at Sunderland. Now looking at us, we're going to have another pairing at the back since the injury to Bassong will keep him out for a few weeks and I'm not sure about Ledley (when are we ever?) so we could well be seeing at Woody and Daws starting. Not a scary combination by any means other than the fact that neither can possibly be right up to match fitness so we'll have to hope their positioning nouse makes up for that. After reading some stuff and listening to some other stuff I think I'm of the opinion that Hutton should be the preferred RB when Bentleys deputising for Lennon because he has more pace and muscle than Charlie at going forward, which will make up for Bentley NOT having either, so Hutts and BAE would get my vote. Harry still seem unsure of his best midfield combination considering he left Kranjcar out of the gooners debacle - who was the only proper left-sided midfielder we have other than Bale. Jenas, Bentley, Thudds and Palacios clearly doesn't really work so it's going to be interesting to see what our leader comes up with this week. Personally I think Tommy's for the chop this week and we'll see Wilson, Bentley, Kranjcar and Jenas starting. Up front? Keane and Defoe obviously. I'm getting more and more worried about the Crouch thing. He can certainly do a job for us but I'm not sure I like the idea of him being one of the two preferred starters and with Pav being utter gash lately Keano's the only real option to start upfront with JD despite his own battle to have any real kind of match impact. So .......................Gomes Hutts...........Daws.......Woody.........BAE (assuming Kings out) Bentley..............Wilson..............Kranjcar .........................Jenas......................... ...............Defoe...........Keane............... 2-1 Spursh
