Anyone watching it tonight? I am going to join my fish and look in a stream as I dont fancy ppv £££££s

so much hype because the beast from the east is abnormally huge. 7ft and 23stone. I wouldnt fancy a punch in the head from him and I weigh a little more than haye! i am not overweight just undertall.

Could be a good day today. going to try and watch spurs online then have a roast dinner couple of beers and back on again tonight for the boxing. just hope the fishing works!!

A very dull tactical fight, but Valuev didn't deserve to retain the belt.

I was amazed by that punch Haye threw in the last round. I thought the Beast was going to go down from that. :shock

apparently haye broke his hand early on by punching valuev. not too sure about this or how severe it was but he said it felt like punching a brick wall when he hit him in the head. just imagine how much it hurts to keep throwing punches at someone with a broken hand. and that is with those gloves on.

after the fight he had some of his fingers bandaged up together.

Valuev is an oddity though isn't he?

Not the best match in the world, but Haye fought the right fight and deserved to come away with the belt. It was compared to a tactical game of chess by my mate and that was pretty much spot on.

I hope Haye can inject some much needed life to the heavyweight division. The Klitchko's have truly killed it. In my opinion the heavyweight class should be the dogs nuts. Right now it ain't but time will tell. Would be great to see the belts unified.

Also, anyone heard anything on Mayweather v Pacqiao and if/when it'll happen?

Pacqiao is fighting Cotto on Saturday which could be an amazing fight, has been largely over looked imo. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Cotto will beat Manny, Cotto is one hell of a tough cookie and packs a cracking knock out blow. I'd recommend the fight to any fight fan! The Manny v Money fight will probably happen around May or June i guess. :thumb

I didn't even realise it was this weekend, Riggsy. Will definately catch that fight somewhere. And I can't see Manny losing, I'm afraid. He's just too damn good right now.

I ask about Manny-Money cos me and a couple of mates have tentatively talked about going out to see it in Vegas. Here's hoping we can pull it off. :pray

By the way, where do you get your boxing news? Unless it's around the time of a big fight, I struggle to find much on the major sport websites these days.

Dont get my boxing news anywhere really mate, just tend to Google the fighters i wanna know about, that way i tend to find out about their up coming fights. Froch vs Kessler should be a belter when that comes around. Cotto vs Manny is gonna be great, Cotto to win for me, no doubt! :thumb

Pacman was amazing, he has truly lived up to his reputation as being P4P the best fighter, although, i reckon Money Mayweather will have something to say about that. Mayweather is an amazing counter puncher and will not get lulled into a street fight like Cotto did on occasions in his fight. Will be very interesting if it happens, cant fooking wait!! :)

Basically he took him apart with a simple strategy of direct attack throughout the fight. As you say he will not be able to do that against Mayweather. It should be a great fight if it ever happens.

It was similar to Mayweather's fight with Marquez.

Pacman was a class above, and just picked his punches and schooled him hard.

Looking forward to the big one now. :woo

Incidentally, what are your thought on Ricky Hatton's strong hints of a comeback?

Hatton? A comeback? Is he skint already?

Hatton could come back, but would need to get over his whole delusion of grandeur complex, and fight at a much more realistic level. He has shown him self to be ill equipped and lacks the ability to adapt when fighting at the very highest level.

I lost a lot of respect for Hatton after the Pacqiao fight, and i feel a comeback may just knock my fading respect for Hatton down another notch.

Well, he was said after his brother's fight last week that he missed being in the ring, and today I saw a Sky article here saying he is on the verge of announcing his comeback.

Personally, I don't see why he would need to come back. The only reasons I could see were to fight either Pacquiao or Mayweather. And I can't see him beating either of them. The only times he went up against the true examples of class in the division and he got beaten comfortably on both occasions.

Anyone else would be a waste of time, and he'd be achieving nothing that he hasn't done before. So why bother?
