Team Bleedout is born

Team Bleedout
Valentine's Day doesn't go over too well with many people. Sonia's concert has only magnified that hatred in those people, rallying them together to make a whole new Team to stop the Valentine's Day Concert. Their name? Team Bleedout.
To make things interesting, Team Bleedout's job is to try to stop the concert or hinder it to the best of their abilities. Their leader is unknown, but their Purpose is clear: Stop the Valentine's Day Concert. All of the same rules for Teams apply, although you can only either be apart of this Team or Team For Love. If you would like to change Teams, post here saying that you're switching Teams. Don't be intimidated if you're already doing a job for Team For Love or said you were willing to help. If you want to join Team Bleedout, ditch the Team and come to the Dark Side >=D. I understand that not alot has been happening in regards to the event, but the staff has worked everything out, so progress should start really be made.
And now, SFRP, I would like to introduce you to our very own CHAOS SERVER
The Chaos Server
The Chaos Server is a way to add an interesting spin on a battle. It grants the user both a benefit such as increased speed, increased damage, etc. as well as gives a drawback such as longer custom time, lower defense, etc. The outcome is completely random, and relies on coding put into the board much like our Dice Roll. In order to use it, simply click the box labeled "Access Chaos Server." After you post, you'll receive both a benefit and a drawback to use for a period of time. The same rules for the Dice Roll apply to the Chaos Server. Once you use it, you can't edit your post.
Not just anybody can use the Chaos Server. You have to be able to access it with either a Chaos Card or the Chaos Ability Wave (coming soon). The Chaos Card allows you to access the Chaos Server for one custom by slotting in the card, while the Chaos Ability Wave will allow you to keep the effects of the Chaos Server for the whole battle without having to slot anything in.
Since I'm sure everyone is interested in the Chaos Server, we're giving away Chaos Cards for this week only! All you have to do his post here to pick them up.
Not alot this week, but its some pretty exciting stuff. Don't forget to post here if you're joining Team Bleedout. Here's a sample of the Chaos Server as well. Enjoy ^.^

- Pierce Bonus
For the duration of the battle, anytime the user successfully hits an opponent with one of their weapons, that attack can pierce a opponent’s invisible guards.
- Health Drawback
For the duration of the battle, the user gains a damaging bug that deals Pathetic damage per turn. Bug cannot be used to defeat the user (If at Pathetic health, the bug stops working)
Valentine's Day Concert!
Posted by Omega (GSP Administrator) at Feb 1 2010, 02:24 PM. 12 comments
Today marks the beginning of February: A time of groundhogs, school, and love. Of course, with such a season as this, its only natural that Sonia Strumm would want to hold a Valentine's Day concert in honor of St. Valentine. So starting to day, we're beginning our first event since our relaunch...
The Sonia Strumm Valentine's Day Concert!
This will be a three day concert starting on the 26th and will last until the 28th. Prizes will be given, as well as an appearance of Sonia Strumm on the days of the concert. It might be a little early to be announcing a concert thats not until the end of the month, but events like these don't happen on their own. Things need to be done, such as setting up the stage, advertising, preparing the music...no single person can handle this on their own. That's where you guys come in. Throughout the month, there will be different tasks that will need to be performed to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Helping out could mean more rewards and gifts for you, as well as make the concert as a whole more successful. We might also see a few characters flying around as well...
Team and Purpose System
Since a project such as this requires so many people, we are now introducing our Team and Purpose System into the boards. Teams will help unite members to accomplish a Purpose, as well as give everyone a little more LP. Here's the official wording for the Team and Purpose System, which can also be found in Section 3d. of The Rules V3.
For the concert, the Team "For Love" is being made with the Purpose of "Make the Valentine's Day Concert a success." If you would like to join, post in this thread to do so. Remember, you get an additional 10 LP for each member in your group other than yourself.
Dice
If you haven't noticed by now, we now have a 6 sided die encoded into the forum. I know a few members made some attacks that are dependent on a dice roll, so this was put into place for those guys. I will warn you that if you are caught manipulating the dice roll that you WILL be penalized, so think long and hard before trying to take advantage of the simple coding. This also includes editing a post where you used the dice roll, whether you needed the dice or not. If you need to edit your post, let a staff member know and we'll take care of it for you. I trust this won't be a problem though. If you feel like someone is manipulating the dice, let an active staff member know and we will take care of the problem.
Email
As most of you have noticed, We've had an email section for some time. I'd like to announce that you can indeed use it however you wish, and that it is open. To use email, all you have to do is create an inbox. For more information, check out this thread.
EDIT: There was a mistake made on the Starting Cards listed. "Plasma Shot" should be called "Plasma Gun," and "Recovery 50" should be "Recover 50." We're sorry for this inconvenience, but be sure to make the appropriate changes to your card list.
I believe thats it for this week's update. Don't forget to post here to join Team For Love.

Misc. Announcements
Posted by Omega (GSP Administrator) at Jan 25 2010, 03:40 PM. 7 comments
There are just a few miscellaneous updates this time around, each that needed to eventually be covered. Lets dive right in, shall we?
Member Plots
We now have a new feature called Member Plots. What are they exactly? Member Plots are essentially small orchestrated threads that are used for character development. They are a way to try to play out a certain story a member might want to do. These are completely run by the members, and are meant to be a replacement for board wide plots. For more information, check out the Member Plot Template and Rules thread.
Non Stated Attacks
Attacks that are not stated by a weapon or a card now deal damage. Each non stated attack deals Pathetic damage per hit, and cannot be chained together. Non stated attacks can be attacks such as punches or kicks. They are generally everything that doesn't already have a stated damage. It might not be very powerful or useful, but at least it does something, right?
Starting Cards
As you know, we have 29 starting cards that could be used an unlimited number of times. However, since its really broken to allow unlimited uses for a set of 29 cards, we have decided that all of the starting cards are given as a single card. If you want to use it multiple times in a match, you'll have to acquire multiple copies of that card. We have traditionally had the cards be unlimited, but we are going to see how it works out. If there are enough complaints about it, then we will allow the cards to be unlimited like they were in the past. Be aware that this does NOT change how Multi Use and Single Use cards are used.
If you are a returning member, I would like to remind you that you are allowed to keep your old starting cards as well as pick up the new starting cards that are listed. Just remember that your old starting cards are NOT unlimited. This also means you get multiple copies of some cards, such as Cannon and Attack +10.
Since Starting Cards are limited to one use per battle, we can now give out the 30th Starting Card! Everyone gets to have the ability to recover just a little bit, so included in the Starting Folder is the Recovery 50 card. Be sure to add it to your signatures to use in battles. Remember, only one use per battle.
Virus Explanation
Finally, we would like to make virus battles a little more clear. Fighting viruses is indeed random, but how you post can effect whether or not viruses come. What exactly does that mean? Quite simply, if you post that you're looking for a virus, chances are that you'll run into a virus. This is no guarantee that you will, since viruses show up randomly, but it does increase your chances of a staff member creating viruses for you to fight. Of course, defeating viruses results in getting rewards, so keep that in mind when you're twiddling your thumbs waiting for things to do.
That does it for this week's updates. Post here to make sure you get your Recovery 50 as well as voice your opinion about the updates.

Upon request, we now have a Spam section in the forum (whoo!). There won't be any rules for now, but be reasonable. No porn, linking to ROMS, or serious drama. Just use common sense...sort of.
In case you're wondering how you run into viruses or NPCs, you don't. They'll run into you. Thats right: there is no systematic way to run into viruses for the time being. Instead, we're leaning towards a more random aspect of things, playing more on staff motivation rather than member request. It might be a little strange at first, since both we as staff will need to get use to this system as well, but I think the random aspect of things will make it interesting for everyone.
How exactly does it work? If nobody joins your thread for some time, a staff member might throw a few viruses your way, or possibly a Green Mystery Data. Whatever happens is up to the staff member, so it might even come when you don't want it to. If that ever happens, you're free to leave the thread and not participate. Don't think that you have to be by yourself in a thread to get something random happen to you. You could be in a thread with a few other people and run into tougher viruses or possibly some Boss characters. The number of random occurrences is endless, although it is dependent on the staff if they want to NPC or not.
If you haven't noticed at the top of the forum, we have our featured affiliate section at the top of the page. Be sure to check them up, as they'll be updated every week. This weeks is Project 800, which is a Star Force based chat. They've been a close affiliate of us for years, so drop by and pay them a visit.
Our Member Drive is still underway, so be sure to keep bringing members here for Member Drive Rewards! Click here for more information.
I know alot of you guys are from RE:RN and are use to seeing alot of systematic procedures for alot of things, as well as just seeing alot of things in general. We're still rebuilding, and more and more systems will be reinstated as we go along and get them reworked, so there will be more diversity here the longer you stay. However, we are developing a more member driven site rather than one completely operated and run by staff, which might be different for some of you. Generally, if its not in the rules, then we don't have it for the time being. Bear with us as we continue to rebuild. We'll also make your time waiting on us worth it with a few give aways and events in the future.
Finally, we would like some feedback from out members. What kinds of original locations would you like to see in the boards? Post you ideas and suggested here.
I think I covered everything...if I missed something Staff, let me know and we'll add it if its suppose to be included.
