Towering over the ever popular Wazzap Lines, cliffs surround this once booming tourist attraction. Not many people as of late have been visiting the Lines due to the growth of so many cities, but no one can be seen at night. Nevertheless, ontop of the highest standing cliff, a shadowy figure stood looking at the strange markings. The only light provided was that of the stary sky and glowing moon which almost made the lines radiate. Not many people appreciated this location or Wazzap for that matter. In fact, on many occasions big coorperations have wanted to dispose of the Lines and create a mall, but none have never succeeded. It was at this place that Zuhal found piece of mind. Zuhal laid down on the cliff, staring at the stars that blotted the sky. Living in the Wazzap region, he made visits to Wazzap every so often to look at the Lines and just think. No one ever bothered him here and the place seemed to mystify Zuhal. The stars seemed brighter than normal that night. Del joined Zuhal as they both stared at the sky in silence. It was nice to have some peace and quiet with Del, but even now the weird alien could be heard making "oos" and "ahs" as he looked at the tapestry in the sky. Zuhal began to retreated into the seclusion of his mind, thinking over all of the events that had happened. The girl at the lake, meeting Del, Uxyl, and Kaiser, experiencing Denpa Henkan, fighting Tribe King. So much had happened and all of it forced Zuhal to rethink his values and beliefs. Before, Zuhal never was interested in much of anything, but now he felt more like Del: curious and interested about the world. He would of never taken the time to stop and look at the stars, but now he seemed fascinated that Del had come from way up there. Was Del's presence making him behave like this, or was he like this all along? Zuhal was beginning to have a hard time distinguishing his and Del's personality. And it was only day one. "Hey...Del..." Something had been bothering Zuhal ever since they ment Scorpious and Aractus. Del knew more about FM-ians than he did. Hopefully Del could answer his question without getting too worked up. "...Are you sure Planet AM was destroyed by the FM-ians because they were power hungry?" Del acted as energetic as ever, disregarding how serious Zuhal had asked his question. "Am I sure? Of COURSE I'm sure! They thought we were gonna be a threat, so they wiped us out first!" "Hm..." Del confirmed Zuhal's thoughts. The reason Planet AM was destroyed, why Scorpious seemed to manipulate Uxyl, and why Tribe King wanted to fight was because of power. Power...all it seemed to do was destroy everything. Those who wanted power wanted to make themselves superior than everyone else, even if it ment destroying those they think are inferior. The thought made Zuhal's blood boil. He was concerend about Uxyl's desire to get power to stop TK. Power only caused destruction, and Zuhal didn't want him to fall victim to that trap. It has been used to hurt others in order to boost someone's ego. People will always seek power to make themselves better than others. Zuhal couldn't sit by and let that happen. It would be a fine line to destroy power with power, but unlike the power hungry, Zuhal would use his wits to become victorious. Just because he loses a battle does not mean he doesn't get victory. If he didn't stop the self eating cycle of Power, then no one else would. At the age of nine-teen, he began to feel the weight of the world upon his shoulders. Zuhal decided to make this his task for life. With the help of Del, he might just be able to keep others from gaining too much power. Del broke Zuhal's train of thought with a thought of his own. The AM-ian seemed calmer, more understanding. His voice now wasn't as loud and annoying as it had been earlier, but there was a hint of compassion in it. "Ya know Zuhal, I've been keeping a close eye on ya. I know ya get annoyed by me often and that ya wish I wasn't like that all the time. But I wanna let ya know I understand! Got that? You're nice enough to let me hang around ya, and I respect that!" Del quickly returned to his hyper mood and raised his voice again to its old level of annnoyance. "I just wanted to let ya know! You can count on me!" Zuhal smiled in compliance as he closed his eyes. So Del understands, he thought. Maybe having him around won't be so bad after all. As Del wandered around the cliff, Zuhal slowly began to drift into sleep. Inwardly, he hoped the next day would be as exciting as today had been. Edited by Omega, Feb 21 2009, 04:29 PM.

~[Line Cliff: Hidden Potential]~ "Again!" Zephus rushed at yet another boulder, dodging out of the way or the mass of debris that was scattered ontop of Line Cliff. His legs ached and were cracked in a few places, but he continued on. Ryuu's face ran through his mind as he pushed himself ever closer to the boulder. Ever since his defeat, he had felt incomponent. He was no fighter, and Ryuu just proved that to him once again. There was no anger toward Ryuu, but toward himself for not being able to follow through with defeating his power hungry Wizard. That would change the next time they met. Now within range of the boulder, Zephus used a lightning fast Dolphin Kick in an attempt to shatter it to pieces. Just a small section of the boulder shattered while a crack went halfway through it. Zephus quickly brought his foot down to gain momentum for another kick, smashing the boulder even further. He brought his foot down for one final kick, crushing the boulder to pieces. Pain surged through his body as he brought his foot back down. "*Huff*...*Huff*...Three kicks...Almost there..." Del was just as tired from the training as Zuhal was. "*Hah*...*Hah*...C'moooooon Zuhal! We need a break! *Hah*...*Hah*...We've destroyed almost EVERY boulder here!" Zuhal closed his eyes, trying to catch his breath and think of what to do. The only way they could pull this technique off was to work together. If Del backed out now, Zephus' Dolphin Kick would still have the same amount of strength it did when he first fought Uxyl. They had to perfect its new strength. "...One more..." Zephus opened his eyes and focused on the last remaining boulder. It was near the edge of the cliff that overlooked the Wazzap Lines, and seemed slightly bigger than the rest. Catching his second wind, Zephus readied himself for his last attempt. "Come on Del. We can do this. Just think of it like an FMian." Del prepared himself too, ready to give it everything he had. "Right! We're gonna take it down!" Zuhal and Del yelled in unison as they rushed at the boulder. Their speed had increased as they placed their whole being into this final assault. At the last second, Zephus jumped slightly into the air and kicked with all his might. A cry of unison was uttered as the kick connected with the boulder. "Dolphin Kick!" The boulder exploded into thousands of pieces, their debris raining on the Lines below. Zephus landed on the very edge of the cliff before falling backward. They had finally done it. Their Dolpihn Kick was now at its maximum breaking potential. *Breaking Attribute officially added to Dolphin Kick & Dolphin Ram* |

~[Line Cliff: Arise of Rebellion]~ The sky was beautiful. The sun's mighty rays dimmed to an orange glow as it began to lay down beside the horizon. The orange gave off a light of its own, giving a unique color to the already titian landscape. It was a strangely calming abnormal light, adding to the country's calm atmosphere. It was starting to turn dark: Zuhal's favorite time of day on Line Cliff. He stood on the edge of the cliff, looking down at the lines below. It was by no means a perfect view, but it was better than trying to view their shapes on the ground. The setting sun's light seemed to make the lines glow, a rare sight down in Whazzap. As always, Del was floating right beside Zuhal, gazing at the picture before them. The AMian gawked as he always did at a scenery such as this, but was oddly quiet coming from Del. Zuhal placed his hands in his pockets. Del was the first to speak. "I can't believe ya use to live out in a place like THIS! Sure its no lake, but I'd grow legs and eat dirt if there was a place like this on Planet AM!" Zuhal was awfully quiet. His mind was deep in thought, not knowing what to say to his partner. It wasn't anything Del had said that had triggered his intellectual thinking, but rather what he didn't say. They had just talked about a plan to sneak into WAXA, and Del hadn't said much of anything about it. He still needed to email Uxyl and Agito, but first he'd have to get Del's take on the situation. Turning his head toward the shifting sky, he spoke. "Sneaking into WAXA is no small deal. This isn't a game, or something to do to pass time. If we screw this up, we become fugitives. BOTH of us." Zuhal stopped for a moment for Del to take in the information. The dolphin was strangely silent. "If we're going to do this, we need to do it all the way. We won't be able to turn back once we start this mission, and the consequences could drastically change how we live. This involves both of us, so we both need to be in this together. If you don't want to do this, then I understand. We'll call the mission off and keep tracking Tribe King down without the Noise Program. As my partner, your take on this situation is just as important as mine." Del was careful to speak. It was obvious he had thought about this, although his response wasn't profound. "Zuhal. We've been partners for a looooong time. Its been weird, but we've been through ALOT together. And y'know, you've always been there for me. I know ya don't like water as much as I do, but ya always watch out for me and accept me for who I am. We don't get along all the time, but you've been doin' whatever it takes to watch my back. I lost alot when I left Planet AM. My family, my friends...they were all destroyed by the FMians. You were my first earth friend, and you've become the closest friend I've ever had! I trust ya enough to do ANYTHING. If ya think we should sneak into WAXA, then LETS DO IT! We need to defeat that Tribe King guy and take down the rest of the FMians! If this'll help us, then we should go for it!" Zuhal smiled. They stood there for awhile, enjoying the moment of their bond. It was an odd feeling for Zuhal, but it was one of the most satisfying things he had ever felt. Their friendship was changing to a whole new level, one where the two were beginning to think as one. Del had definitely rubbed off on Zuhal, and Zuhal had taught Del a think or two about life. They had become near inseparable. The moment was ruined by Zuhal's Hunter VG. He looked down at the beeping device and checked an email that the Satella Police HQ had sent him. He sighed, hoping he wouldn't have to get called in on his day off. Del leaned over his shoulder to read the email. "It looks like HQ thinks there's something going on in Egypt. Something about rumors and a tomb raid. We've been assigned to check it out, since we're close by." Del quickly became excited, being the easily distracted dolphin that he was. "Egypt? I've never been there before! Sounds like fun! C'mon! Lets go check it out before the bad guy shows up!" Zuhal raised his Hunter VG and was immediately encompassed in a blue light. It shattered away to reveal the still battle damaged Zephus. He rubbed his leg, remembering the injury given by iX. It still hurt a little, but it wasn't anything big. Just to be safe, he decided to try out his new Recovery 200. His wounds were surrounded by a pink aura as his pain began to go away. In no time, he was as good as new. Bouncing on his left leg a little to test it out, he found the nearest Wave Road and changed his frequency to get up on it. In a flash, he dashed away toward Egypt, where an unknown assassin was awaiting a visitor. |

~[Line Cliff: The Oasis Trial]~ His breath was heavy. The pool of water before him reflected a distorted image back at himself. His eyes gazed deep into the depths of the glistening oasis as his mind raced about the upcoming events. The moon watched from a distance, seeing everything in the night sky. Both he and the now conquered NAZA could not escape its all seeing eyes. Zephus focused on the water before him as if he was trying to communicate with it. The water had always been troublesome for Zuhal. Swimming was a waste of time, and the rain only brought his travels trouble. Yet, he knew that as long as he was with Del, the water would have to be his ally. The battles ahead would be difficult, and he needed all the strength he could get if he hoped to stop The Criminal from taking WAXA as well. Del had been pestering him for the longest time about learning water based attacks, and it seemed taking that advice now was a good idea. His hand moved over the water as he tried to create ripples. His control of water would have to be perfect if it was to be of any use. As it stood, Zephus had no way of shooting water, or creating it for that matter. If he was to use a water technique, he would have to control surrounding water or find a way to manipulate the EM Waves around himself. Del might have had some advice, but at the moment he was quiet. Zephus could feel his excitement grow inside of himself, and it seemed that the only thing that was keeping the hyperactive alien from shouting was Zephus' concentration. The water began to slowly move away from him. Not a great deal of it rippled away, but enough to see a result. Zephus began doing a repeated pushing method in hopes to create bigger ripples. His gaze grew more intense as his drive began to take physical form. All of his lost fights flashed in his mind as his motions became quicker and more intense. More and more of the water began to move, and Del's aiding presence could now be felt. Both partners were working together to move as much water as they could. Suddenly, he stopped. The intensity of his concentration and of his movements wore Zephus out quickly. Now on one knee, he panted hard to catch his breath to go at it again. Del appeared beside Zephus to offer some encouragement. "C'mon! You can do it! You'll see what water can do when it works for ya! You just have'ta keep tryin'! C'mon!" Zephus stood again and began his pushing movement once again. He started off slow, but quickly gained the same intensity as he had before. The water began to lap out of the hole as the waves pushed against the side of the oasis. Now, the Tribe King was in the forefront of his mind as his movements became broader and slower. The water watched his movements, but stopped as he fell backwards from exhaustion once again. The strain he was putting on his mind and body was too much for him. As it stood, there was no way Zephus could use water to his advantage alone. Del would have to help. "C'mon!!" Del urged Zephus onward. "We can do it together! One more time! C'mon!" Zephus couldn't stop panting as he rose to his feet again. With both Del's and Zuhal's power coursing through his veins, he gave one last push with all his might. Uxyl, Agito, and Kai flashed in his mind as he gave his all one last time. "Aquatic Wave!" In his last attempt to control water, Zephus' last push moved all of the pool's contents out. The water shot forward, wetting the ground as it covered a large distance hitting against a rock. Zephus has succeeded. But was that the extent of his attack? Could all he do was push water around? Whether or not there was more to his ability, Zephus would have to find out another time. Right now, he was passed out cold from exhaustion from the mental strain of his attack. He had a long way to go if he hoped to master his control on water. |
