Human: Name: Rieu Takahi Age: 15 Gender: Male Description: Rieu has a slightly thin frame, and is just a tad tall for his age. He has surprisingly bright blue hair, which is contrasted by a large red headband which he always wears and is a tad obsessed with. Said headband is rather ragged, for several reasons. Rieu wears various different t-shirts, all of which are mostly plain save for various messages, his favorite being 'Ad? What Ad?'. On his legs are most often plain blue or tan jeans, some of which have small tears and most of which are faded and otherwise worn out. Shoes? Tan boots, which are very worn out even when compared with other items he frequently wears. Personality: Rieu likes to think of himself as a free spirit. While he might not be the greatest free spirit there ever was he's certainly not deluding himself. He's pretty sociable and not at all an idiot but he's often overly energetic and prefers to have his own way over another's, except for the most minor of issues. He's adventurous, certainly, and sometimes will drag someone off with him against their will. He's not exactly exceedingly brave but despite not being an idiot he can sometimes get deluded, a trait which could be used against him. Biography: Roughly halfway through the age of 9 Rieu decided he wanted to be as much of an individual as he could. So his parents drew up a more self-reliant life for him. He handled his own room(obviously), his own meals, everything school-related that he could, his own laundry, stuff of the sort. He also had to procure his own spending money and often his own transportation too. This didn't distance him too terribly from his parents as one might expect but it did help him become more of a free spirit. Because of the 'procuring his own spending money' bit he often had to rely on less expensive forms of entertainment. He explored various types of terrain, losing himself in parks and forests, hiking mountains, and just wandering city streets. Eventually he'd scraped together enough money for a Wizard, "enough for a decent one" as he put it. but along the way he bumped into a rather unkempt, but official-looking scientist. An apology and a short conversation later and Rieu was offered a Wizard the man was carrying with him. The scientist claimed Rieu was just the person he was hoping to pass the Wizard on to and offered to sell it for only half the zenny Rieu was planning on spending. Rieu was intrigued not just at the 'bargain' but also at the interesting opportunity of a unique Wizard. The man didn't come off as shady to Rieu at all, oddly enough. Said scientist never introduced himself, and further did not give Rieu any means of contacting him despite the fact he seemed sad to let go of the Wizard. He did, however, leave with Rieu several details about the Wizard, including several sheets of paper which the scientist referred to as 'research notes'. The deal was made and half a year later Rieu has yet to regret purchasing Poly, as the scientist told him the Wizard was named. Wizard: Name: Poly (or VGM) Gender: Male Description: ![]() Personality: Poly is less a mature and responsible Wizard and more a child who's convinced himself he's mature. He's more delusional than Rieu and aspires to be the "greatest hero of this time", in his own words. He's very unfamiliar with mankind's history, popular culture, and many things of the like, due to largely being a Wizard equivalent of a sheltered child. Although imaginative he's basically a goody-two-shoes and is more likely to stay where he's told to and wonder what would happen if he left than to actually leave. He's loyal to Rieu and tries to 'help' Rieu improve his life but can't find any problems to deal with besides the occasional procrastination when dealing with homework. Just the slightest bit shy and just the slightest bit cowardly, Poly isn't a wuss when it comes to combat but can be intimidated without incredible effort. Too bad Rieu is much harder to scare, and is very inspirational to Poly. Biography: Poly was always told his name was Poly back at the small lab he was 'raised', such as it was, in. However all of the scientists, including his original owner, often referred to him as 'VGM' when he wasn't being directly spoken to, and although he once asked his original owner what the letters stood for he can't remember the man's explanation anymore. He considers Poly his nickname and VGM his actual name although he prefers the nickname(since Rieu does). He spent his first several years in a small lab area being taught various things and having various tests run on him. He never questioned what was going on, especially because he wasn't the only Wizard in the area kept there. Several other Wizards, most vastly different from him, also 'resided', such as it was, there. He never socialized with them much even though he wasn't on cold terms with most of them. He was greatly attached to his original owner, but a year before he met Rieu his original owner told him, and constantly reminded him thereafter, that he would soon be given to 'a more ordinary person'. Although Poly was understandably distressed at the knowledge he'd soon have to part ways with the scientist the early forewarning made it many times easier to adjust to being Rieu's Wizard. For all the time he'd had to do so Poly had developed mostly by himself. He wasn't exposed to much 'outside culture' before meeting Rieu, either, though his new owner now works to remedy that. Although scared of Rieu at first Poly has indeed gotten used to the boy. But he does occasionally wonder what happened to his original owner and that man's associates.
