We have a non-venomous baby snake in the same aquarium as our 1 1/2 yr old sulcata. He's about 6 to 8 inches long. We tried to feed the snake a live mouse last night. The snake killed the mouse and started to swallow it - got all the way to the hind legs and then spit it all out. We left it there thinking the snake would eat it later. Well it was still there this morning but sometime between the time I woke up and my husband woke up (within 30 minutes), the sulcata ate the mouse! all but the head. I couldn't believe it! Will this hurt the sulcata? I know they're not supposed to have too much protein. Any thoughts out there? Thanks! P.S. And yes, we feed him quite a lot of veggies everyday. |

It's been one week since our sulcata ate the mouse and he's had no ill effects that we can tell. He's still hungry as ever!

| Perhaps its time to separate the two species. Wouldn't want the sulcata to eat any more mice! |
