Source from the OMB, posted by a director of the club.

To those hardy folk who attended the last fans forum, I made comments to the effect that after 7 years of drift and decline, the club was now ready to rise again.

This can be put down largely to the considerable financial investment and business operations of the joint chairman, and the team around them.

Last year involved a root and branch overhaul of the club. We have a rejuvenated commercial dept, new youth system, phyio, coaches, fitness trainers and even a sports pyschologist!

Debts are cleared - Last year we made a profit! This is itself is remarkable. We made a bigger profit than Chelsea Smile

All of this is foundation building. It does not guarantee success but it provides a strong base for it - and it is sustainable - unlike our boom / bust exploits a decade ago.

At the end of last season the club made statements about the quality of the acquisitions earmarked. McCall said that he was after Thompson, he'd love Moore, but this was a dream. Boulding was another target but chased by over a dozen clubs... He was also watching players involved in the Division One play offs.

The cynics suggested this was a stunt to boost ticket sales, we've heard it all before. The club has raised hopes before.

So we did not get Thompson - despite offering more than Scunny. However we got Brandon - A city fan and local boy. A proven play maker.

We got McClaren! Most assists in the Division above. Tranmere wanted him to stay - their fans are up in arms. Magic tounge McCall pulls a rabit out of the hat.

And Graham Lee- captain and proven leader at Doncaster. Another coup.

Arnison - fantastic against Leeds in the play offs - recommended by Abbot. Quality addition.

And finally - we have Boulding - the fox in the box and foil for Thorne. Why did he come here - McCall again. Players keep talking about his man management - Rhys Evans mentioned this recently. McClaren gave it as the reason for coming.

Don't forget Willy Topp - Bullock back from injury.
