Touted as wanted by the old firm, the owls were seemingly lucky to get hold of him. South African born Burton joined Wednesday from Livingston in the summer, the Owls beat off several other clubs advances to secure the left sided midfielders services. Burton began his career as a 17 year old at St Mirren where his performances warranted him a move to Blackburn Rovers but in two years at Ewood Park he made just one appearance before heading back to Scotland to join 'Livi' he was part of the side that won the league cup in 2004.
