Blackburn apparently had a Ł3m bid for the 23-year-old Egyptian international accepted but the player opted to stay with the Serie A club. Mido, who had an 18-month loan spell at Tottenham, is quoted as saying: "I am not interested in Blackburn. "I want to remain at Roma and prove that I can help this team go on to achieve success." Mido made 28 starts for Tottenham but left the club to return to Roma after his loan spell ended. The frontman was hampered by groin and knee injuries in the latter stages of the season after an impressive start at White Hart Lane.
