Middlesbrough have pulled out of their attempt to sign Chelsea's German international defender Robert Huth. The 21-year-old was set to seal a £5m switch but an ankle injury sustained prior to the World Cup looks likely to have scuppered the deal. Boro manager Gareth Southgate told the club's website: "It's a great shame for everyone involved that Robert won't be joining us at the present time. "But I'm continuing to pursue a number of avenues towards new signings." |
