Here are the future plans.

Barnsley

The club are looking to replace the old West Stand. It is anticipated that the new development will be more or less identical to the existing two tiered East Stand. However no firm timescales have been set as to when this might happen.

Blackpool

After demolishing the old South Stand in 2003, the Club have yet to embark upon the building of its replacement. The stand would be similar to the North Stand and linked to the West Stand, it was intended to be open for the 2004/05 season, but for various reasons works are yet to commence. It is intended that once the South Stand has been completed then work would begin on the construction of a new East Stand. It is possible that work will begin on it sometime in 2008.

Bristol City

A scheme for a new 30,000 capacity stadium adjacent to the M49, which would have been shared by both Bristol City & Bristol Rovers, plus Bristol Rugby Club has recently been scrapped. This may mean that the Club will instead re-instate plans to re-develop Ashton Gate. This will involve the re-building of three sides of the ground, resulting in an increased capacity of around 30,000. First is the Wedlock stand, currently the stand housing away supporters, which will be demolished and replaced with a new stand housing 5,200 with a cost of around £7million. This will then be switched to the 'home' end, and the carling atyeo stand made the away end.

Burnley

The club are looking to purchase the adjacent Cricket Club, which would allow the re-development of the Cricket Field Stand to take place. The Football Club are proposing to build a two tiered stand that would have a capacity of 7,000. However this is dependent on finding a suitable site for the Cricket Club to relocate to. The old recreation ground in Fulledge had been proposed as a possibility, but plans were scrapped due to opposition from local residents. Therefore the re-development of the Stand has been put 'on hold', pending finding an alternative ground for the Cricket Club. If the Club are unable to re-locate the Cricket Club, then the Club may increase the capacity of Turf Moor by adding a second tier to the Bob Lord Stand.

Cardiff City

The Club have submitted plans to Cardiff Council to build a 60,000 capacity stadium at Leckwith, opposite Ninian Park. The site which currently houses a small athletics stadium, would be re-developed at a cost of around £100m. Initially a 30,000 capacity stadium would be built which could then be expanded to 60,000 if required. The scheme could also see the building of a hotel and a retail park. Sam Hammam has hinted that the new stadium may be named after St David, after the Patron Saint of Wales. The existing athletics stadium would be relocated and Ninian Park would be sold for housing.

Colchester United

Plans have recently been on show to the general public, showing for the first time an artists impression of the eagerly awaited proposed 10,000 capacity stadium at the Cuckoo Farm site just off the A12 in Colchester. The new ground will have four covered sides with approximately 30 hospitality boxes, decent parking facilities and a direct link road from the A12. It has the same designers as the McAlpine Stadium in Huddersfield. If things go to plan then Colchester could be playing at their proposed new ground for the start of the 2005/06 season.

Coventry City

Thanks to Coventry City Council who pledged £21m to the Coventry Arena Development, the Club will now be moving to a new stadium, in which they hope to kick off the 2005/06 season. The Arena Development will not only include a new 32,000 all seated stadium for the Sky Blues, but also a retail development and railway station.

Charlton Athletic

The Club have revealed that they intend to increase the capacity of the Valley to over 40,000. The first phase of the scheme would see an additional tier which would increase capacity to just over 30,000. The next scheme would see the Valley becoming totally enclosed and boosting capacity to 37,000. Lastly a third tier could be added to the new South Stand at a later stage, meaning that the Valley would have a final capacity of 40,600.

Hull City

The stadium has been built in such a way, that at some stage an additional tier could be added to the East Stand. It is also possible to add another 2,000 seats at each end of the ground by moving the retaining wall back over the concourse. These developments would raise the capacity to over 30,000.

Leicester City

The stadium has been built in such a way, that if required, an additional tier could be built onto the East Stand. This would increase the capacity to just under 40,000.

Plymouth Argyle

The Club intend at some point to 'finish the ground' by re-developing the old Grandstand. It is intended to build a multi-tiered stand with a capacity of 6,000 seats and will make the overall capacity of Home Park around 18,600. However at present the Club do not have the necessary finances to pursue this project.

Preston North End

Planning permission has been granted to build a two tiered stand complete with a row of executive boxes to replace the existing Pavilion Stand and Paddock. However there have been no time scales announced as to when this will take place. These developments would result in an increased capacity of around 30,000.

Stoke City

If Stoke City gain promotion to the Premier League, then the ground capacity would probably be increased by filling in the gap between the Boothen End and the John Smiths Stand. This would take the capacity to over 30,000.

Watford

The Club plan to re-develop the East Stand, but have not announced any formal time scales The new single tiered stand (capacity 4,500), will take a year to complete and will raise the capacity of the ground to around 23,000. The Club are also investigating the possibility of adding another tier to the Rous Stand and/or filling in the corners of the ground.

West Bromich Albion

Following the purchase and demolition of the Woodman Pub, which sat outside one corner of the ground, between the Apollo 2000 and East Stands, the Club have applied for planning permission to re-develop this part of the stadium, so that ground capacity can be raised to over 30,000.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

plans have been drawn up to increase Molineux's capacity to 43,000, by adding an additional tier to both ends of the ground, plus completely re-building the Steve Bull Stand'. The Club have purchased the necessary land to do this, but have also confirmed that the expansion will not begin until Wolves have established themselves in the Premier League'.
