With an improved sponsorship, would this be taken seriously?

Bradford took it fairly seriously by fielding many of the first team squad with the addition of a few fringe players. Teenage sensation (well in Bradford anyway) Joe Brown scored on his debut. Bradford made it to the Quarter Finals before losing 2-1 to Kidderminster. Lee Crooks were sent off in the 6th minute.

Swansea used the trophy to their advantage by getting to the playoff final before losing on penalties. It might be a minor trophy but it's a good competition for the teams to prepare themselves for the FA Cup games and the playoffs. Also it could be the first game to be held at Wembley.

they've kicked us poor non leaguers out of the competition. such a shame as we managed to go on a nice cup run in it last season. knocking out the giants of the game such as Chester and Doncaster. Do you remember those games Barton, Ian???

Brought around £30k to Woking last year in the gate reciepts of where we knocked out *ahem* Nottingham Forest B)

Bit of glory for us too. But in the other two years we've played in it, it's been a pointless waste of time.

we got to the final of it once, so feel obliged to take it reasonably serious. it was what elevated us above the rest of the non league pond life like Burton.

Fond memories of this trophy / competition in one of it's earlier guises - afterall it's provided us with our 100% Wembley record!! :clapping: :clapping:

Later worked for AutoWindscreens when they were sponsoring it, loads of freebies given, match tickets etc (Even got to vote for MOM at a Stags game) corporate hospitality etc.  (Then the company started being shirt sponsors for Brum and pulled out of competition supporting :( :( )
