Burtyo update :

After Sheffield Wednesday accidentally released him ( Burtyo's agent Don Daly is blaming a " clerical error " for Burton's release. Apparently Wednesday manager Brian Laws was doing his retained list for 08/09 after a particularly heavy session on the gin. Instead of typing " Give Burton a new 10 year multi million £ contract " he typed " Get out of my club now Burtyo you useless lump of s**t " ) Burtyo has since been linked with some of the world's great football clubs - AC Milan,Barcelona, Notts County etc. but incredibly no one appears to have signed the legend up.

So please please help me track down the Burtyo down. My life is incomplete and meaningless without the Burtster :(

Errr, Mr JD, he has already signed for another club. He is at Falkirk. Here is what Falkirk club captain Lee Bullen has to say on BOB's transfer:

LEE BULLEN has spoken of his delight at former Sheffield Wednesday team-mate Burton O'Brien joining him at Falkirk.

The former St Mirren and Livingston midfielder has agreed a three-year deal to return to the SPL three years after moving down south.

The South African-born ex-Scotland Under-21 star was released by the Championship club at the end of last season.

Former Wednesday defender Bullen said: "Burton is a tremendous signing. He's a fantastic football player with magnificent technique and he'll add a wee bit more experience to the squad.

"As soon as I heard that Wednesday were going to allow him to move on I was straight on the phone to Yogi, who was already aware of his availability.

"Burton will fit straight in to Yogi and Brian Rice's philosophy of total football and that helped persuade Burton to come back up to Falkirk because he wants to play football in that style."

Owlie I've been in Falkirk of course. I've managed to track down Burtyo and I'm now living full time on a park bench directly opposite Burtyos luxury bedsit

Have you read about Burtyos goal ? :

" Two minutes later, the Bairns sealed all three points with a third when Cerny was culpable with a poor clearance straight to O'Brien.

The summer signing did not take the chance to shoot from distance towards an unguarded net but his eventual drive flew past the Czech keeper for a magnificent strike "

HOORAY FOR BURTYO !!!!!!!!!!

and HOORAY FOR WEDNESDAY !!!! Won me £ 10 on Tues, had em in a double with Ipswich

I think I am solely responsible for Scottish football in general

i am thinking of betting on Wednesday again this week. Unfortunately it will be to lose as they are away at Plymouth which if I am not mistaken is the current club of our old pal Paul "Silky top" Sturrock ?

What are your thoughts on peas?

I have thoughts on peas Barton but I cannot under any circumstances disclose them. The last time I did I ended up in Wormhill cells for 4 years.
