quite enjoyed this article from ex-Torquay and England star Chris Waddle. There may be a touch of bitter ex pro in there but I generally agree, and not just for the premiership either. In all divisions most teams seem to have this safety-first approach now.

In terms of entertainment, Waddle has got it right but he should have mentioned Man City and Wigan Athletic as they are entertaining but in terms of attendance, Waddle has got it wrong. You got to consider all those televised games and various kick off times.

i agree im a purist im afraid and hate these different times shud be 3pm weekends and 7.30 or 7.45 midweek .fed up with sky and fl and fa fannying about with everything and dont you just love the computerised fixtures xmas period should of been like it used to be with local derbys or matches with not much travelling and midweeks more of a joke i can remember going to watch huddersfield away in midweek matches at carlisle torquay and exeter now them was long hikes for midweek but common sense hasnt prevailed in footie for a long time. i mean huddersfield in november got millwall tuesday then leyton orient on the saturday both away now how manys gonna afford london twice in the space of 5 days .idiots with fixtures
