I feel it would be a big mistake if Paul Jewell,if offered, took the Hammers job.He is worshipped by the Latics fans after his heroics of getting them into and sustained them in the premiership. I dont envy anyone jumping into the political frying pan that is Upton Park. |

I am of the opinion that Alan Pardews time was numbered as soon as the take-over was planned. The fact that he has had a bad run of games just played into their hands. It's a pity because he seems to be a genuine sort - a proper nice guy. But nice guy don't always get on in this cut-throat world of ours :( Who next? - Curbs seems to be the favourite but don't rule out Sven - whilst I'm not predicting it - it would not come as a total shock! |

I totally agree with your comments,CB.But not sure that the Hammers supporters would accept a foriegn chap in charge.Although as they are now owned but an 'outsider' they may not have a choice. Watch this space eh. |

What they want and what they get might be two separate things - heard on the radio last night that West Ham had only had something like 9 managers in 100 years before Pardew. Quite some record! |

Most seem to be the other way round - 100 managers in 9 years or summat. Players come and go as well - Had a look at my Play-Off final programme from only a couple of years ago (vs. Uddersfield - remember) and we have only got something like 3 players left from the 30 or so that were mentioned. Think County have got more from that squad than we have! :o :o |

Indeed - Funny story about Mr Lawrence. When he was with us he had a reputation (amongst others ;) ) for crashing cars. Had avtually managed to write off about three in a couple of months. In a particular game our Liam was being given a severe lecture by a referee when some wag yells - "Offer him a lift in your car Liam" - well that was it Liam just bent double with laughter. Thinking that he was laughing at him did not seem to be going down to well with the ref, then we could see Liam almost whispering something in his ear. The ref burst out laughing as well and, as he walked away back to the centre-circle, turned and applauded the crowd! Proper quality! |
