Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stunned the world of football by leaving Stamford Bridge by mutual consent.

The decision comes after the club held a crisis meeting to discuss the indifferent start to the new season.

Mourinho, 44, joined Chelsea in June 2004 and led them to the Premiership title in each of his first two seasons.

But his relationship with Blues owner Roman Abramovich grew increasingly troubled and he quit despite having three years left on his contract.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What a loss to the Premiership. Will the fans turn on Abramovich as Mourinho was seen as the real figurehead of Chelsea and the fans loved him?

It would be brillaint to see someone like that take on a "normal" managers job. Itd be interesting to see if they do any better.

All joking apart...I think he is a great loss to the PREM, I don't believe for one minute he'll go to another English club.
You either loved him or hated him, there was no in between, He was a great character.
I would wait eagerly for his comments after he lost a game, or enjoy his sheer arrogance when he won, you can't deny it, he was entertaining.

He will be more than welcome to take over at Notts. There wont be any shortage of money for him to bring in a few players. :)

Of course thats as long as he brings his £20 million with him. ;)

Surprised to hear about the sacking. All this relationship broken down with the board is a load of rubbish.

Could this be the end of the glamour of the Premiership? Even though Jose kept winning trophies, it didn't satisfy the men upstairs. Also there are rumours that Man Utd are a ticking timebomb financially and there seems to be an influx of foreign investors investing in Premiership clubs. The value of the TV deals won't get higher and the audiences are apparently decreasing, could it be ITV and dodgy chairmen all over again and Premiership clubs will suffer what Football League teams do/did?
