Probably to take our minds off the open revolt against our management that is brewing, lots of unsubstantiated rumours about OUFC's season abound on our forum. Kevin Keegan was at the Kassam on Tuesday (this is definitely true) and there is a rumour suggesting he will replace Jim Smith as manager (this is highly unlikely). It is also rumoured that Martin Keown will start his managerial career at Oxford, having completed his coaching badges. Now why would he want to do that? Also, in the the realms of rumour fantasy, Richard Branson will buy the club, transforming us into European Champions within five years. This rumour I like. Big hello to Dunce, Myk, VBM, Rach and anyone else who knows me, with apologies for my lack of sociability recently. XXXX |

Hello sugar. Spending a bit more time in Bakewell (including next two weekends!) All that walking is getting me fit - fit for a few pints each evening. ;) I take it you're still working at ssh, you know where? |

have you found any Bakewell Tarts there yet? It's a shame you have to keep coming back to MK as Bakewell sounds a lot nicer. I'm still at the Sizzling Sausage Hotel where you can have an excellent breakfast at a reasonable price |

Pete Ive just watched the whole of the Droylsden game.I think the pivotal part was the penalty,as you were on top after the break.Things look like things are getting tough in the conf as there are so many decent teams nowadays. Apart from the footie I hope you are well. (Are Big Jims days numbered?) |

They call them "puddings" up there, probably to make the local fat lasses feel at home. :o I could easily live up there, eventually! |

Paula actually gave me "permission" to go to that game since we were in Derbyshire. I chose to go out for a nice meal instead. GOOD DECISION! We are truly awful this season. 95% of supporters on our forum want Smith gone as he is tactically clueless in the Conference. Still, I'm still going on Thursday v Torquay, and to MK Dons v Peterborough on Tuesday. What's the talent like at Trent this year? :) |

Hiya, may I ask why you are awful this season, what is the difference from last season? Hope you get back into the league soon. |

That is the $6m question! We shipped out several players who were seen as poor performers, but subsequently got jobs in higher divisions. We have a manager who doesn't understand the non-league scene and so signs third rate Estonians rather than budding stars from teams like Histon. The manager is also a miserable, monotone sod who couldn't inspire anyone, has clearly lost the dressing room and doesn't even praise players when we win. Crowds are down 22% on last season. In short, we are up sh*t creek and plumetting. :D I mean  |

Jim is our manager, but hopefully not for much longer! The realists amongst us know that even the play-offs are beyond us this season! Still, you're in it for life, aren't you? |

of course you could live up there. It's nicer than MK!!! Did I just read you were going to go and watch the Donkeys? :o Also as you know MK better than me, can you name a decentish pub/restaurant that would be able to cater for about 20-25 people for an Xmas lunch in the week before Xmas? |

Evening Rachel. Yes I am taking the Devil's shilling and going to watch the Dons tomorrow. The following are places I've been to in MK area and am happy to recommend - Wavendon Arms, Wavendon 01908 584277 Swan, Milton Keynes Village 01908 665240 Swan, Salford 01908 281008 Swan, Woburn Sands (yes, I know, a lot of "Swans") 01908 583204 You can't normally book here, but may be different at Christmas Old Green Man, Little Brickhill 01908 261253 My only reservation here is service can be slow The Bridge, Fenny Stratford 01908 379584 The first five are "gastro pubs", The Bridge is a slightly more expensive restaurant. Happy hunting! |
