'OVERACHIEVERS' is a tag Scunthorpe United have lived with - and taken advantage of - throughout their glory-laden recent history. But no longer can the Iron expect to surprise any Championship big boys who are already counting three points before kick-off. And manager Nigel Adkins couldn't be happier about it. Norwich City boss Peter Grant had had the Iron watched in each of their first eight league games. But he had to be happy with a point after Tuesday's 0-0 draw at Carrow Road. Up next are Watford, relegated from the Premier League last season, and guided by a manager in Aidy Boothroyd who is renowned for attention to detail. And no sooner than sealing a 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, the league-leading Hornets boss trained his thoughts on the visit to Glanford Park. "We've got another tough game on Saturday" said Boothroyd. "It should be a good game on a nice tight pitch." |
