Dunno about you Hoodsy, but I felt Woking could count themselves unfortunate not to come home with three points. Hit the bar twice in the opening ten minutes and had numerous efforts throughout the first half. I felt Marvellous Marvin Morgan had your defence very worried, who for the record lack a lot of pace, so I can see why you aren't doing as well as you could.

Second half, Oxford were the better side, and started stroking it around a bit more. However, they were toothless upfront and couldn't do a great deal with it. Morgan remained a threat upfront, but Woking too lacked a cutting edge. However, we looked more dangerous than Oxford did with the chances and really should have come home with three points.

Very surprised Oxford survived with eleven men. Could easily have had three sent off for mostly chopping Morgan and your number twelve committed more than one cynical lunge.

Overall, I think we are beginning to look a decent side, and with our best striker in Liam Marum playing his first 25 minutes of the campaign today, hopefully he will provide the cutting edge we lack when he is match fit.

Good Luck to Oxford for the season

Hi Dan

Wouldn't disagree with much of that!

You should have scored in the first five minutes. That tall number 8 of yours was always a handful.

Scoring is definitely our problem. Yemi (no.10) runs all day but often up blind alleys and is too short for the high balls hoofed forward too often. Rhodes (no.29) is our new 17 year old. Quite skilful but can't do alot on his own.

Where you at the match? Thought the atmosphere was poor, and no way were there 4,713 people in the ground. Probably that many tickets sold, but loads of our ST holders are picking their matches now.

Thought you played much more attacking football than last Boxing Day. Looks like Cockerill's departure has worked for you.

Looking forward to a 0-1 defeat at your place then. :(

Yeah I was at the game. A few Woking fans did their best with the singing but there wasn't enough numbers behind them. To be honest the crowd figure sounded around about correct.

I agree on the number 10. Very quick, but doesn't seem to know what to do with it. Overall though I think it's the defensive side to the game that you need to work on. You lack pace at the back and Morgan, who's shit in the air for a big man, won more headers than he has done all season. We just lacked the killer instinct and a bit of luck, but with Marum back now hopefully that will change and we can push on up the table.

Frank Gray has been a breath of fresh air for this football club and is working on a shoestring budget, but has managed to create so much competition for places within a small squad. With most of the lads coming back to fitness, and the style of football much better, things are definitely looking up.

Next week's cup game with Staines couldn't come quick enough. We're so skint that we can't afford a reserve side, so the likes of Matt Gray and Liam Marum can't gain match fitness that easily.

He made 400 odd appearances for Leeds and played in both the European Cup and Cup Winners Cup Finals and played 32 times for Scotland. Won the European Cup under Brian Clough at Forest before returning to Leeds, and moving on to Sunderland.
