And 426 hardy OUFC fans were there to see us roundly humiliated.

Strangely, one of the most fun away days I remember. Dark humour abounded -

> Our fans singing "we want six";
> Our fans celebrating their substitutions, free kicks and goals late on;
> Setanta muppets getting abused ("Sky Sports" rejects);
> Terrace congas;
> "Let's pretend we've scored" celebrations.

Shame the players don't give a f*ck.

Rushden last season was possibly the lowest of the low for Cambridge, it was our 7th defeat in a row and left us marooned at the bottom of the table. That was back at the end of January/early february and we haven't looked back since.

I seem to remember I was the only one that didn't join in with the 'sit down if you want Quinn out' chants. A fact I frequently point out to my brother when anybody brings up what a brilliant manager he is. :) (me smug, never)

As for Oxford, I think it was the right decision to permanently wheel Jim Smith into the bar, at least that'll keep your wage bill up pretty high. However I'm not sure Darren Patterson is your saviour, I think you need a man with a bit more experience to get out of this league, as shown by McIllroy, Turner and Still being the last few managers to get out of this league.
