Good work Teeky. Good to have a bit of Stockport back up on here :D Carl Baker is a cracking signing for us. One thing we lacked is a goalscoring midfielder and Baker will fill that gap nicely. With our top international striker Peter Thompson guarnteeing us 45 goals minimum this season I can see Stockport winning the title by October. |

Well how great was it too be back in thew swing of a normal saturday afternoon of watching football. Stockport vl Liverpool XI. 1 - 1. We were introduced to the new away kit - all black with gold flicks. i thought it looked great against the liverpool reds. Jake obvs loved it and has asked if i can buy it as soon as its available. Three of the 4 new signings playing and i was very pleased with what i saw, very strong at the back for most of the game. Not as fast paced as id like but the temp out there must have been bad so ill let that go. I admit i thought it was very strange to go to a match with out a coat and with my sunglasses on! I thought that Leon McSweeney and Dicker were outstanding and nice passing between the midfield and Pistol Pete and Carl did great. The new keeper looked a little shaky to me but im hoping he has more confidence for the lads of Manchester City next week. I thought a well deserved 1 - 1 Did you go JD? Watch out VBM!!! 9th of August see you there :D |

No didn't get to the game Teeky. I was working. If LPool had stuck to their agreement and brought the full side I'd have got the day off. Good to see the new lads settling in well, am hoping for big things from top international striker Peter Thompson Mcsweeney could be one to watch this season. He came in for a bit of stick last year which I thought was very unfair as he was thrust staright into the side with no time to settle in. It took Gary Dicker a few months to settle in and when he did he was fantastic. Bit concerned about the keeper. I work with a Crewe fan and she said loads of Championship level clubs had been sniffing aorund him but the face he hasn't yet played a competitive game for anyone is a little worrying |

The only thing about the keeper is - hes the only we one we got at the moment, i think all county fans wanted Ruddy or Logan to stay but tought lets move on. Lets hope the fans dont make him out to be like Spencer and that Jim and Wardy work their magic on him :lol: Just been confirmed Stockport County v Manchester City is a 1pm kick off. Up the hatters!!! |

i see the rumour of Stephen Gleeson is doing the rounds again - im still hoping its true :D Not going Macc tonight - £12 for a friendly get off with you, i just paid £10 to see Manchester city on Sat. Macc town your having a laugh :lol: |

I dont tend to bother with friendlies looks like gleeson is all but confirmed. Around £ 150 K I think ? We'll surely need to sell one of the other midfielders now ? Dont think a club of our size we can afford to keep Dicker,Gleeson,Baker,Blizzard,Turnbull and Taylor. I'd say lose Turnbull but Jim seems to like him so I'd say maybe Taylor could be on his way ? |

I hope we dont lose Taylor or my son is a curse! lol he had Taylor put on the back of the home kit, Poole on the away shirt and Griffin on the gold Shirt :lol: On the subject of Gleeson is it a loan or have we bought him??? In the express yesterday it never mentioned a loan but apparently in a intwervew with Gannon he said he will be here for half the season??? Either way im pleased. Although i agree JD for me Turnbull would be dropped, Blizzard was a major player for me last season. Taylor is injured for up to 9 weeks. On the yellowboard they are already guessing how many we are taking to Hudders - Well im going but do we now what allocation we get? |

Looks like Gleeson is a loan. I'd heard differently origianlly. Makes sense though as we've spent enough money on Baker and Thompson. I like Taylor so I hope we dont have to sell him or any of the midfielders, just dont know if we can afford to pay 6 senior midfield players ? Not sure about Hudds. I've got to go to a wedding so cant make it. I reckon we'll rake 1500 at least, possibly more |

Wooohhooo - Gleeson played today he was given special permisson to play ahead of him signing his 6 month loan deal which should be complete on Monday 2 - 2 !! We nearly had them :rolleyes: |

Well Well Well cracking start to the season. First time in a long time had to travel to an away match with a hangover but i knew we were in for a cracking opening match. Jake was impressed with the stadium and i was gutted it cost him £10 to go in but hey at least he could see what was going on. I thought the first half we were a little nervy but i thought our Jim Mcnulty was outstanding never thought he could play like that. I thought Huddersfield just had the tip on the game in the first half they looked great from set pieces but not quite up to the fitness of our lads maybe we were trying more. Tommy Rowe Rowe Rowe was excellent with the goal but i thought he was being kept rather quiet by their players so happy with the 1 - 1 going into half time. Second half Jim took Rose off he was struggling and put Matty on but as a striker and also Baker came off and changed our formation and wow what a difference that made. I thought we had a great second half. Shame we just couldnt finish all of the runs offs. I thought we did ourselves proud for sure and better news that we were the only promoted team to get a point Posh,Hereford and MK Dons lost. In the Sunday Mirror the terriers boss said they played rubbish and Stockport were the better team by miles. :D Bring on Leicester on Tuesday and Satursday :unsure: :unsure: |

Nice one Teeky. Sounds like a very encouraging start to the season against one of the favourites for promotion. I think we are going to surprise a lot of people this season. Would like to have been there but had to go to a wedding, looking forward to Leicester next Sat though, reckon we could be looking at not far off a sell out ? How did Thompson play ? In fact lets have your marks out of 10 for the whole side. |

Hey JD My mate instantly got on Thompsons back but i think it will take him a match or two to settle down. He did seem a little lost on his own at the first half. Fon Williams id say def a 8, looked confident and not dazed by the occasion. I got to pick Jake up from football training so have to go now. Ill fill u in when im in work tomo. |
