Ronnie Moore loses his best player

Tranmeres leading assist maker with 13 last season.

Just need a new keeper and City have got a team capable of promotion.

Tranmere offered McLaren a two year contract but he turned them down. You would think Tranmere would do better to keep hold of League Ones leading assist maker.

Indeed.

Supposedly we are signing Andy Butler and Mark Kerr this week, we shall see though.

Hudds examiner says a deal could be back on and supposedly you are going to get a striker and Beckett is one of about 3 options. Im guessing you will have him if you can agree terms and you dont want to pay over the odds. Beckett is on too much of a wage, shame hes got a year left on his contract really, it would be better for everyone if he was a free transfer.

Apparently McCall is waiting on Boulding before deciding to sign Beckett.

Given that City are paying to sign Beckett, I would have rather spent that money on Jon Shaw. He won't command a large wage and Halifax need the money more.

Missing the following players:

Keeper
Right Back (Racchi)
Centre Midfielder
Striker (Shaw)

Paul McLaren on the move to City

Says Ronnie Moore kept stalking McLaren

"I was talking with Tranmere all summer and Ronnie was always phoning and texting me. They offered me a deal and we haggled a bit but I just felt it was the right time to have a fresh challenge.

"I've been there two years, finished just above mid-table both times and I wanted something new. I hope they do go higher because there are good people there but, in my eyes, I thought it was time for a change."

Bradford looked nailed on for promotion.

Shrewsbury seem to be signing some top players too so expect to see these 2 fighting it out for the title

Latest odds for L2:

Gillingham 8/1
Darlington 8/1
Bradford City 9/1

Odds dont always mean too much, more an indication of how punters are betting and so the bookies will change the odds accordingly.

Don't rate Darlo's chances that highly

3 signings last week :

Adam Griffin
David Poole
Adam Proudlock

All Stockport reserves last season. First 2 aren't going to set League 2 alight. Proudlock could do but he's unlikely to be fit enough to manage many full games.

But if you look at Bradfords form post Chester in November and that we've signed League One quality players, it shows that we're going to be amongst the pack.

Dont get me wrong I think Bradford have a good chance, but generally punters in the lower leagues place bets on their own teams. Therefore the the teams with a good support generally have shorter odds.

Not sure why Gillingham are favourites ?

Lincoln look to have bought some decent players in. With Peter Jackson back at the helm they look a good each way bet
