Bradford City have signed Huddersfield Town defender Tom Clarke on a one-month loan deal. Clarke will go straight into the squad for the Bantams trip to Grimsby Town in League Two on Friday. The 20-year-old has made just one appearance for the Terriers this season, the 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Darlington. Clarke - the younger brother of Town's Nathan - also had a spell on loan at Halifax Town last season. Bradford City manager Stuart McCall had been looking for cover in central defence for the injured Mark Bower, and hinted after Monday's defeat at Darlington that he was looking to enter the loan market. Clarke progressed through Huddersfield's youth academy and made his first-team debut in February 2005. He has also represented England Under-19's but missed most of the 2006/07 season with a ruptured cruciate ligament. Although normally a centre-back, he has also played at full-back and in central midfield for the Terriers. As long he can play right back as good as centre then he'll do for me, otherwise it's a waste of a loan signing. |

Came off the bench on the 20th minute and played a useful part in the 3-1 win against Grimsbeeeeeeeeeeee. Got a good amount of pace, gets stuck in and kept tabs with the opponents. Please release him Stan, you know it's makes sense :D :clapping: Edited by Valley Parader, Oct 25 2008, 01:44 AM.

Tom will probably stay for another month or two depending on when Mark Bower will come back from injury but it's unlikely he'll be there for the remainder of the season, unless if TJ Moncur doesn't sign permanently for City in the new year. Then again Stan might see sense and decide to call Tom back and replace Chris Lucketti. |

Id happily have Tom in the centre of defence at the mo. Him and Butler might work quite well together. |

Tom Clarke stays for another month to ease the increasing injury crisis. Bradfords results since Tom Clarke joined Grimsby: Won 3-1 Bury: Won 1-0 Barnet: Drew 3-3 Wycombe: Lost 1-0 Rotherham: Won 2-0 Chesterfield: Won 3-2 Coincidence he helped City get on form? |

Very impressed, Tom is a right phyiscal player. He might have had a mare against Barnet but overall he has done City proud. If Tom has got injured and/or wants 1st team games, he knows where to come to ;) |
