Vampire Types On Vampire Academy their are four types of vampires: Classic Non-classic Mystic Hybrid. They are just a rough guide, feel free to modify them slightly to best suit your character. Classic Vampires Classic vampires are the vampires in myths and movies. They only come out at night, and are immortal. They prefer to sleep in coffins, but anywhere away from the light will do if coffins are unavailable. Very strong, and are able to move faster than humans can. Can be killed by holy water, sunlight, stake through the heart, etc. Non-classic Non-classic vampires are a cross between Mythic and Classic vampires. They can go outside during the day, but are weakened by sunlight. Wooden stakes through the heart paralyze them, silver is fatal in high doses. Feed only on blood, cannot digest any human food at all. Appear with the same skin tone and features as when they were turned (any injuries, etc will be healed). Are Immortal, but need to somewhere cold to rest at night. Mystic Mythic vampires are very different from Classic vampires, the main similarity being that they need blood. However, they can also eat small amounts of mortal food, and many enjoy the odd mortal meal. Mythic vampire’s can also come out in daylight, but the extent varies between individuals. In some individuals the skin shines and sparkles in bright light, but some vampires their skin is normal. Just a little lighter than normal humans. They are also very hard to kill, the only certain way being to rip and burn them into a fine powder and spread the powder around. They are extremely strong and fast, being able to move and speak much faster than mortals can see or hear. Hybrid Hybrid Vampires are part mortal and part Vampire. Hybrid’s are only born, they cannot be turned, therefore are not immortal. But they have a longer lifespan than average mortals. Characteristics of Hybrid’s depend on the individual and how much vampire blood they have. Please note that the vampire types are of my own creation from a variety of sources. About Classic, Non-Classic and Mystic Vampires being Born All vampire types can be born, as well as turned (except for Hybrid's which can only be born). When a Classic, Non-Classic or Mythic vampire is born besides a liking for raw meat they are like a normal human child. Around their teenage years they slowly start developing some vampire like symptoms, except for needing blood, but only a few and never encountering all or having them full strength.. At a matureing age they fully change into a fully-fledged vampire, the actual age depends on the individual but usually between the late teens and early twentys. The individual goes through no pain, and the change is usually brought on after a close encounter with a victim in which the individual attacks the victim, usually clumsily, this is the first time the vampire's fangs will extend. From then on they are a fully fledged vampire, and show all the characteristics of the parent vampire's. Vampire's can have parents of different vampire types, but this quite rare.
