By accident, I discovered this online alternative radio station a few months back and thought it would be the perfect potential outlet for YV to get some airplay. They play artists ranging from DD, U2, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, to KOL, The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand, Radiohead, The Killers, Coldplay....list just goes on, lots of lesser known and less mainstream bands too. They are affiliated with 2 New Jersey shore radio stations, The Hawk which is a classic rock station, and The Point which is Top 40 (all under Millenium Radio). They have an hour long program on Sunday nights on both stations that feature some of the new music out there (they've recently played Jupiter One's Flaming Arrow!). You just never know what might be added to those stations' playlists from ShoreAlt. I follow them on twitter and have tweeted them a few times when they've asked things like what should they play. Today they tweeted that they have just redesigned their website, and they now take requests. The request box asks you "Is there a new artist that you think would be perfect for S*ALT? Is there a classic artist we overlooked? Are there bands we don't play enough or bands we play too much? Here's your chance to let us know." So naturally I sent them an email with a suggestion! I thought that if a few of us sent an email to show that there is some interest out there it might get YV on the playlist (they change up the playlists daily). I think just one email would be enough, I don't want to be annoying and keep flooding them with tons of emails, it might turn them off. But a few just might get them interested. I didn't specify a song, just said anything by Your Vegas. So please check out the station if you're so inclined and send them a request for YV.
