uuhhhhh funnnn i like debates.... American Comics simbolize american culture in the era of when it was made. Sure many of them are spandex wearing fools....but heres the thing, they are OLLLLDD super heros, superman is the original one, and he was first unveiled in june 1938 batman followed in may of 1939, thats a 70 year span. Now about the storyline. In Xmen comics, they touch upon many serious topics, such as racism, with proffesor x taking a stand with martin luther king, and magneto with malcom x.....the psychological trauma that many of the comic heros go through is a great storyline aswelll, if we take the instance of "the thing" from the fantastic 4, he doesnt want to be what he has become, he cant change back, he is a "a hedious" beast. This also is shown with mr hulk, as well as many xmen. The xmen feel persecution because of what they have acquired throught genetic mutations. They are the outcasts in american comic society, as well as they are mirror images of the outcasts in real american society. Mangas are in their high day at this point. The age of hero comics has come to a hiatus. But with that hiatus comes the surge of funny comics. AnimeSekai spoke about peanuts and archi, (Side note, i was born on the day snoopy made his 1st appearence,, woot woot snoopy is great!!!!) anyways....we can take the boondocks for instance. they started of as a comic strip, but that comic strip touched on many of black american morals and foults, it has become one of the most real cartoons ever to be launched. What the man, aaron mcgruder, says is true. But this is purely american based. It takes what is happening in america in shows it in a comedic fashion Thats where the storyline greatly rivals manga's greatests,,,in my opinion..... Alas, ive written too much i hope i havnt lost you in the process. |
