~angel~ Posts: 2,435 Group: Pirate Member #300 Joined: December 6, 2007	oo i dropped history in sec 3 too, cos in sec 2 my history mark was overall 68 and geog was overall 80+ so i took geog and this year overall 87 - 2nd highest in my school <_< the system in singapore is probably different from many other countries. theres a CA(continual assessment, basically your entire year's work e.g. projects) that takes up 60% of the whole year, and and end of year exam, that takes up 40%. my CA was the higher than the 2nd highest by 2 marks, but in the EOY exam i got 34/40 and he got 37/40, so i ended up getting 2nd. no 2nd top in level prize though Genius Robin would probably sweep the top prizes in every subject :awesome:

~angel~ Posts: 2,435 Group: Pirate Member #300 Joined: December 6, 2007	oh yeah Robin should be good in history i think malaysia tests history differently. my Malaysian parents grew up in malaysia, and according to them history was memorising which year what happened, and geography was memorising the locations of countries on world maps in singapore, history is kinda weird. Its more of an essay paper, and there'll be qns like "To what extent do you think that the British was responsible for the fall of Singapore" Then you have to write a long essay, saying stuff like your stand, counter arguments, conclusion etc, and there are different levels (1-5) that represent how well you've answered the question I can't do those kinds of qns at all

~angel~ Posts: 2,435 Group: Pirate Member #300 Joined: December 6, 2007	theres supposed to be writing skills for this kind of essays, but i can't seem to get them logic works in geog, just write long long answers, kinda like throwing many bombs and hoping that one hits :nuke:, of course not to the point of digression or total spamming which is why time is very short during these humanities subjects tests i could sprout hands and write faster though :ehm:
