Tre Merrit was in a tree stand with his grandfather when he saw the bear walk out of a thicket.  Tre’s grandfather says “he came in about 40 to 50 yards and when he got in the open, I whistled at him and he stopped and I said ‘shoot him Tre’”

After Tre pulled the trigger, his grandfather said, “I told him, I said ‘Tre, you missed the bear.’  He said, ‘papaw, I squeezed the trigger and I didn’t close my eyes.’ He said, ‘I killed him.’”

When Tre’s father was asked how he felt bout his son killing the bear, he said tears rolled down his cheeks.  He went on to say “Davy Crockett supposedly killed him a bear when he was three and Tre is five.  But he really killed a bear.  I really doubt Davy killed one when he was three, so it’s just absolutely amazing.”

The boy’s father says, just last year Tre killed three deer, and next he wants to kill a Turkey and an Elk.

Tre Merrit was taught to shoot, by his father, when he was just 2 years-old.

i don't respect someone killing a living thing just because it was supposedly an "impossible task." sure animals die all the time, but that doesn't mean we should support that. but then again, there are idiot americans that don't give a rats ass about animals <_<. this makes me love japan even more
