Wow, that is insanely hot. That card shouldn't get much over 85c. If it does, you need a better cooling system. That card might actually melt at that temp lol. If not it, it might melt other things around it.

My 8800GTX is idle at 50c right now and probably wont go past 75c in a torture test let alone playing that game. My case is entirely air cooled, no water cooling.

I would really suggest getting more air flow in your computer. Are there open slots to add more fans? If there is, that might help a little, but it also depends on how jumbled up everything is inside the case. If there are a ton of wires everywhere, that is cutting down on your air flow as well. You could get some zip ties and bunch up some of the wires to help with that.

If all of that doesn't help, I would think about getting a new case with better air flow to it.

On another note, does the fan actually work on the card? Turn your computer on and make sure the fan on the card is spinning. If not, you may need a new card. You might also want to get a can of compressed air and dust it off as well.

All of that may not even be enough, that is an insanely hot temperature. Hopefully it will help some though. Anything above 85c is getting much to hot.

That is true, how many watts is your power supply? It can cause issues if there is not enough power going to all the parts of the computer.

Just so you know, you can't get to powerful of a power supply. Having to many watts will not hurt anything, aside from your wallet. So it never hurts to get more power than you need.

Once we get more info, hopefully we can help ya out a bit more.

gkscythe - HOOOOO DAMN, you need to get a cooling system my friend. That shit is gonna light up like a firefly on crack. I suggest you pick yourself up some 200mm and 120mm fans QUICK. If not, get a water cooling system.
*As for psu, I suggest the Antec True Power Quattro 1,000 watt. I have it for my upcoming rig for some serious gaming.

danshop - If you're going to get a vc I advise you not to get Radeon. The 8800 series is the best out there right now. But of course you can't go wrong with the 8800 GTX :P

Danshop, I have heard nothing but good things about the 8800 GTS. It is supose to be very close in power to the 8800 GTX for way less of a price. I really wouldn't suggest an 8800 GTX now because Nvidia is suppose to be releasing the 9000 series pretty soon and that card will be out dated. If you must have one now, I would suggest the 8800 GTS so you don't spend as much money to be outdated so soon. I am not sure exactly when the 9000 series is suppose to come out, but I would think it will be Q2 of 2008 or so.

I don't know anything about Radeon myself, always just stuck with Nvidia because they have always worked for me.

If you want to go for best value for the money, wait until the newest card comes out and then buy the one right below it. There usually isn't too much difference in power, but a big difference in money.

So I basically change my case fans , etc to a low noise because i am looking to make a LOW noise desktop system...

my ONLY 1 120mm case fan run on 800-1000 RPM .

I want silenceeeeeeee... even when playing game lol my cpU is always at like 45-55 C with zerotherm cf900 on idle (800-1000 RPM also). lol !! my system is silent.

I got a 500W psu... pretty decent I think. I checked my wattage and i'm only using like 160-200 watt... so i don't think its the psu..

the temp is really high but maybe my everest ultimate gives the wrong formula??? arght i'm not wasting $$ to buy any zalmans...

well I use a cheap ass MSI p3 motherboard. 2x 1 gig pc5300 ram. core 2 duo E6300 @ 1.8-2.1ghz

O yea btw, I am not rich to afford crazy system like u guys omg ~~!!. I only buy in thanksgiving sale ... my case is FREE AR, my PSU is FREE AR. my ram cost 56$ 1 1/2 yr ago. my motherboard i bought for like 90$. lol i'm a cheap asssssssssss and not buying a new GPU fan for an outdated gpu lol.

There are other ways to get less noise aside from turning your fans down. It is not just slightly over heating, that thing is getting to a temp that could actually be dangerous. I will put a couple of relatively inexpensive ways to reduce noise.

Fans get noisy because of the vibrations they make when attached to something. If you held one of your fans in your hand while it was spinning, it would be almost silent. They have products for $5 USD that reduce vibration from the fans.

Fan Anti-Vibration kit

You can also get noise reducing padding that goes pretty much anywhere on the inside of the case that you can get it. It has a sticky side to it to adhere to your case. It absorbs vibrations so that the sound is thus reduced. This stuff is a tad more expensive than the case fan mounts, but they come with 3 sheets which should be enough to cover your case pretty well.

Acustic Material

There is also a wide range of quiet case fans.

Quiet Fans

Yeah, your power supply seems fine, 500 watts should be enough to power what you have. If you get a more advanced graphics card I would recommend getting a 750+ watt one, but for now, that is fine.

Pretty much if you want a quiet PC, you gotta spend a little more for it or just suffer with a louder one. You are not getting nearly enough air flow in that computer. If you don't want to buy a whole new system soon, I would really recommend you turn up the RPM on those fans.

Hope it helps!

I never really found SLI to work that well. Some games don't support it at all and you will get no benefit from it. I know you were just kidding, but I thought I would throw that out there anyway heh.

Hopefully the future isn't in SLI anyway. I sure don't want to buy two $600-$800 graphics cards to stay on top of the graphics world. Let alone 3 like some can do now. Just make one awesome card for $1000 and toss out SLI if you ask me. :D

Ooo nice silicone stuff drex. I did buy my case fan specially for quiteness...

no thanks red for the fans lol I throw my stupid 80's away cuz its LOUD.

I guess i'll just put my own silicone in my case if that helps !! haha i'm so cheap.

right now I think i'll just stick with my current config. technology so advance that it'll crash before anything get burned I think. I am cleaning more of the dust and it seem to make my stuff cooler.

Drex is right about SLI. It is not worth it unless you are so rich because cpU is not that advance to benefit from SLI. well 1st thing is you ONLY sli the best product, like the nvidia ultras. If you sli nvidia ultras, u need the latest cpU to actually harness the power. anantech.com or so did an experiment and they coudn't get a more powerful cpU to run 3 nvidia ultras.

Exception: you find your graphics card to have 70% off after rebate offer then i'll hit it up.
